Monday, April 26
8:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a window broken out of a vehicle parked at the Heritage Center.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an assault at school.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to look at a bag containing an unusual substance found at the school. Deputy said it did not appear to be drugs.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: A blue and yellow tent was found pitched east of the football field at the high school, one block east of the bridge on the walking path.
4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported break-in of a residence and theft of prescription medication, cash, fancy underwear and an iPod.
8:35 p.m., Lutsen: Two-car crash on the Caribou Trail. Both cars were totaled, but there were no injuries.
8:36 p.m., Lutsen: Barking dog complaint.
Tuesday, April 27
9:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured on the Gunflint Trail near South Gunflint Lake Road.
12:50 p.m., Tofte: Sugar Beach Resort complained of juveniles operating ATVs on the Tofte Park Road illegally on weekends. Extra patrols requested.
6:33 p.m., Tofte: Holiday reported a $20.24 gas driveoff.
7:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Vandalism of a mailbox on County Road 14.
Wednesday, April 28
8:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported at Birchwood Apartments.
12:20 p.m., Lutsen: A wolf with mange was seen on Highway 61 near Ski Hill Road. It was also believed to be injured, as it was walking with a limp.
5:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Two back knobblers and two exercise balls reported missing from the waiting room at Sawtooth Chiropractic. It was unknown when they were taken, and there are no suspects.
5:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Duluth Patrol notified after a commercial truck driver was found with a small amount of marijuana and cocaine.
6:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Kids seen on the roof of a building.
Thursday, April 29
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: School bus stop arm violation on the Gunflint Trail. A deputy was unable to locate the red pick-up truck.
8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to speak with two students who were caught smoking on school grounds. No citations issued.
9:17 a.m., Grand Portage: Prior Lake woman, 22, cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Friday, April 30
2:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to Sawtooth Ridges following an altercation between two men. One had a bloody nose.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a small girl, about 6, walking alone on the bike path in the rain headed west past Super 8. The caller said the girl was too little to be out there alone. A deputy searched the area but did not find her.
Saturday, May 1
2:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint.
6:38 a.m., Grand Portage: Burglar alarm at the Community Center turned out to be false.
6:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to check on a guy at Flour Lake Campground who had a stack of chopped wood. The caller was afraid he didn’t know about the fire ban.
10:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Thunder Bay man, 50, cited for speeding.
Sunday, May 2
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for illegal burning.
3:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a truck drove around the barricades at the burn pile, and no one is supposed to be dumping there.
