Sunday, Sept. 29
3:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (back
spasms) on East Bearskin Road.
9:29 a.m., Grand Marais: ATV patrol.
5:17 p.m., Grand Marais: A husky was again
running loose on Fourth Avenue East.
Monday, Sept. 30
7:15 a.m., Schroeder: Deputy requested to help
secure the Minnesota Power building at Tac
Harbor.
12:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Business and
residence checks.
1:16 p.m., Hovland: Deputy called to “unknown
trouble” on Moose Valley Road. Water was
pouring into the fuse box, and alarms were going
off, due to a boiler malfunction.
2:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance on
East Fifth Street.
6:51 p.m., Lutsen: Medical call (stroke) on West
Highway 61.

Tuesday, Oct. 1
2:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to resolve
a parking problem on East Highway 61.
5:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Hazard reported on the
Gunflint Trail.
8:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance
reported on East Fifth Street.
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
1:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Automatic fire alarm
on Store Road was cancelled.
1:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
2:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious
activity on West Highway 61.
4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats made.

1:33 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic disturbance
on Blazes Road.
11:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
2:46 p.m., Lutsen: Welfare check requested on Ski
Hill Road; the subject was gone on arrival.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Personal injury
accident.
3:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch.
3:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported
on Gunflint Trail.
6:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance on
Solberg Lane.
7:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on West
Highway 61.
8:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance on
West Highway 61.

Monday, Oct. 7
12:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
disturbance at Hollow Rock Resort on East
Highway 61. A naked woman was pounding
on the front door of a neighboring cabin with
a rock, looking for the pool. Guest didn’t open
the door to the woman, she just wandered away.
5’6” tan/blonde hair, Caucasian, amd glasses.
Security guard went out and didn’t see anyone.
Ambulance was requested for female party
that was experiencing some mental issues, has
happened in the past, may be dehydrated.
8:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a
parking problem on 10th Avenue West.

8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Motor vehicle accident
involving an animal on West Highway 61.
7:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance
reported on West Second Street. Siberian husky
running around loose, name is Jack, was in her
yard harassing her dog. The dog’s owner was
contacted and told his dog was reported to be
running around, but he advised that he was with
his dog so it must be someone else’s. He’s over at
his other property and is looking right at his dog.
The loose dog was unable to be located.
10:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to
unknown trouble on East Highway 61. A loud
noise was believed to be caused by a transformer
blowing.

Tuesday, Oct. 8
11:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual
conduct investigation.
2:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Trespass complaint at
Sawtooth Harbor.
3:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance at
Tall Timber Trail.
4:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic complaint on
Townsite Road.
5:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call on 11th
Avenue West.
6:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on Birch
Drive.
11:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on South
Broadway.

Wednesday, Oct. 9
6:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call on First
Avenue East.
7:54 a.m., Grand Portage: False fire alarm on
Store Road.
9:26 a.m., Lutsen: Suspicious activity reported
on Caribou Trail. Caller saw a person shoot
a bird in the ditch from his vehicle, and then
retrieve the dead bird.
11:07 a.m., Grand Marais: A husky was running
around the school grounds, and there were
children out. The owner was cited.
1:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another
agency on Gunflint Trail.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on
Gunflint Trail.
3:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another
agency on Gunflint Trail.
8:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious
activity on West Highway 61. A woman was
hanging around a business, asking how to get to
Ohio. She eventually went on her way.

Thursday, Oct. 10
12:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy removed a
dead deer from County Road 7.
7:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage
reported on North Broadway. The Arrowhead
bus driver was unsure if damage to the rear
bumper was recent; it turns out the bumper was
damaged since the day the bus arrived, and no
accident had occurred.
7:35 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic complaint on Hall
Road.
7:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported
on Croftville Road.
3:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Fraud attempt reported.
5:04 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity
reported on Mineral Center Road.
6:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
7:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity
reported on Mile Creek Road. A man holding a
case of beer was riding a bike past the Heritage
Center.
7:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his spaniel
got loose and was running on Fifth Avenue West.
The dog was found the following day.

Friday, Oct. 11
8:52 a.m., Lutsen: Suspicious activity on Old
Ski Hill Road. Grouse hunters reportedly shot
towards a house, and were confronted by the
property owner.
2:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off
West Highway 61.
11:06 p.m., Grand Marais: A traffic hazard on
County Road 7 was removed.
11:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity
reported at the Community Center. A vehicle
pulled into the parking lot and a party was
observed getting out of the vehicle and walking
toward Creechville Road. It appeared to be a
white male in his late teens possibly early 20s.
The party stopped in the parking lot, looked
back at the car, back toward Creechville Road
and back to the car again. They then went back
to the car, opened the door and shut off the
headlights. The party then ran from the car to the
direction of Creechville Road. Deputy responded
to the Community Center and checked on the
vehicle. There are high school sports items in the
vehicle and it looks like the key was in the center
console.
11:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Hazard removed from
Croftville Road.
