7:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Business checks.
8:04 a.m., Grand Portage: Motor vehicle accident with an animal
on Store Road.
8:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Welfare check requested.
9:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud reported.
12:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off West Highway
61.
12:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance reported on East
Highway 61.
3:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Residence and business checks.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking problem on First Avenue West
was resolved.
6:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on Gunflint Trail.
7:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a fox hanging out at the
beach on East Wisconsin Street. The caller was told to call a game
warden if the fox doesn’t leave.
8:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint on Wisconsin
Street.
Friday, Aug. 2
6:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy spoke with a person who parked
on the grass in front of Visit Cook County. The person was told to
move her car.
6:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle lock in or out.
7:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Aquatic Invasive Species patrol on Devil
Track.
9:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Canine training.
9:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Child protection/neglect reported.
9:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud reported.
10:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Aquatic Invasive Species patrol on Devil
Track.
11:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident with property damage
on First Avenue East.
11:32 a.m., Hovland: Smoke reported in the area of Magney Lane.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle lock in/out.
1:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on North Broadway.
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle lock in/out.
4:51 p.m., Tofte: Automatic fire alarm on Tofte Homestead Road.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking problem reported on Wisconsin
Street.
5:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Medical call on Townsite Road.
6:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking problem on West Highway 61.
6:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Security alarm activated on North
Bearskin Lake Road.
6:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Extra patrol requested at the Rec Park.
7:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on North Broadway.
8:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on First Avenue
East reported, but a responding deputy was unable to locate the
complainant.
9:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on First Avenue
West.
9:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Welfare check requested.
9:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Moose struck by a vehicle and ran off
into the woods.
10:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on East Highway 61.
10:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call on 11th Avenue West.
10:03 p.m., Grand Marais: An arrest was made following a rescue
request.
10:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Personal injury accident reported on
West Highway 61 near Thomsonite Beach. A vehicle struck and
broke a power pole, causing a power outage until about 1 a.m. The
occupants of the car were taken to the hospital.
11:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call on East Highway 61.
Saturday, Aug. 3
12:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call on First Avenue East.
12:44 a.m., Hovland: Personal injury accident reported on Moose
Valley Road. A vehicle ran off the road; both occupants were taken
to the hospital.
4:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Security alarm sounded on West
Highway 61, and was cancelled.
7:20 a.m., Hovland: A 21-year-old man called for help from the
Tom Lake area after suffering from heat stroke. He was taken to
the hospital.
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Aquatic Invasive Species patrol on Devil
Track.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on East Highway
61.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another agency.
11:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Water patrol at the Rec Park.
1:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on Wisconsin Street.
2:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer stuck in the rocks
on the east side of the harbor on South Broadway. The city’s street
department was contacted.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: A hold-up alarm on West Highway 61
was cancelled. It was accidentally set off by an employee.
2:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on South Broadway.
3:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked for help retrieving a phone
dropped in about 4 feet of water in Trout Lake.
3:44 p.m., Grand Marais: A child was reported lost on Broadway.
She was found safe five minutes later.
4:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on Third Avenue West;
deputy was unable to find the complainant.
4:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported at a state park
regarding cell phone use.
4:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on West Highway 61.
5:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious activity (loud
bangs) on East Highway 61. It was a group of people shooting
tannerite on Eliasen Milll Road.
8:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking problem on West Highway 61.
Two people were contacted and moved their vehicles.
11:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to Grandma Ray’s on
First Avenue West to remove an unwanted person.
