Trail affecting 261
customers. Service was
restored at 9:38.
9:30 a.m., Grand Marais:
Hazard reported on East
Highway 61.
10:08 a.m., Grand Marais:
Traffic complaint on Eighth
Avenue West regarding a
vehicle with a loud exhaust
that frequently goes up and
down the street. A deputy
spoke with the owners,
who said they have an
appointment to fix the loud
muffler and exhaust on July
20.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais:
A driver’s license and credit
cards were reported lost on
Gunflint Trail. The owner
later called and said he
found the items.
12:07 p.m., Grand Marais:
Welfare check requested on
Wisconsin Street regarding
a guy who was living in his
truck, but was causing no
problems. He was advised
of the city ordinance about
camping on city streets.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais:
Animal welfare check
requested regarding a dog
left in a vehicle parked on
Wisconsin Street. It was
determined the dog was
okay and not in distress.
2:25 p.m., Grand Marais:
Parking complaint on West
Highway 61.
5:27 p.m., Grand Portage:
Medical call (shortness of
breath) on Store Road.
5:37 p.m., Grand Marais:
Report of a water
emergency on Wisconsin
Street was cancelled.
6:31 p.m., Grand Marais:
Business and residence
checks.
9:06 p.m., Grand Marais:
Medical transport.
9:51 p.m., Grand Marais:
Occupants of a camper
parked at the Point were
told they are not allowed to
camp there. However, they
had been drinking, and
were told to be out in the
morning.
Saturday, July 13
2:48 a.m., Grand Portage:
Security alarm on Mile
Creek Road was cancelled.
11:42 a.m., Grand Marais:
Report of an injured deer on
West Highway 61 that had
been struck by a car and
needed to be dispatched.
A deputy responded but
couldn’t find the deer.
1:49 p.m., Grand Marais: A
small gray shoulder bag was
left at a store on Wisconsin
Street.
1:53 p.m., Grand Marais:
Deputy assisted another
agency on Gunflint Trail.
2:33 p.m., Grand Marais:
Property lost/found on West
Highway 61.
3:00 p.m., Tofte: Medical
call on Sawbill Trail.
3:15 p.m., Grand Marais:
Public assist on Gunflint
Trail.
3:57 p.m., Grand Marais:
Public assist on Third
Avenue West.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais:
A loose horse was seen on
Greenwood Lake Road, and
the owner was notified.
4:37 p.m., Grand Marais:
Personal injury accident
on Pike Lake Road. A car
and motorcycle crashed;
the motorcyclist had a leg
injury and was taken to the
hospital.
10:39 p.m., Grand Marais:
Deputy assisted State Patrol
at Fall River Road.
