8:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/
found on North Broadway.
8:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone scam
reported.
10:30 a.m., Grand Marais: A car struck a
deer on East Highway 61.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/
found on West Highway 61.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported
on Cedar Grove Road.
1:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of wood
bundles reported on Clearwater Road.
2:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Juvenile trouble
(assault) on West Fifth Street.
4:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Welfare check on
a hitchhiker requested. Referred to State
Patrol.
4:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (foot
problem) on Hawk Lane.
6:40 p.m., Lutsen: Report of suspicious
activity on Cascade Beach Road. Renters
were having problems with others.
7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was locked
out of his cabin; a locksmith was called.
7:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical transport
on Fifth Avenue West.
8:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch off West Highway 61.
8:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a fire
in the ditch on East Fifth Street. The caller
stopped and put it out.
9:10 p.m., Grand Portage: Residence check
requested.
9:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Fireworks
complaint on North Bearskin Lake Road.
The perpetrators were reprimanded.
10:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Open door
found on Gene’s Way.
11:03 p.m., Schroeder: Fireworks complaint
on Cramer Road. The perpetrator was
reprimanded.
11:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious
activity reported on Gene’s Way.

Saturday, July 6
12:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call
(abdominal pain) on West Highway 61.
12:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch off West Highway 61.
12:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud music
complaint about the GunFlint Tavern on
Wisconsin Street.
6:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Animal
disturbance (loose dog) on North Bearskin
Lake Road.
7:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
was smoke in the area of Mile O’ Pine.
9:55 a.m., Hovland: Property lost/found on
Naniboujou Trail.
11:27 a.m., Grand Marais: A request to
check the welfare of an animal on South
Broadway was cancelled.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Theft by fraud
reported at Beargrease Xing.
12:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of items
from The Market reported.
2:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/
found on East First Street.
3:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/
found on Voyageurs Point.

4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone lost on
Wisconsin Street.
5:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
was an injured bird on Wisconsin Street.
5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint
on Gunflint Trail.
8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch off Old Gunflint Trail. A tow was
called.
8:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Loose dog
reported on Croftville Road.
9:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Fireworks
complaint on Gunflint Trail.
9:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from East
Highway 61 heard shots. The perpetrators
were warned for fireworks.
9:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Fireworks
complaint from Lindskog Road. The
perpetrator was reprimanded.

Sunday, July 7
1:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Gunflint Trail. Theft of items in Seattle.
6:49 a.m., Grand Marais: A skidder caught
on fire on East Highway 61; there was no
structure fire as originally reported.
9:03 a.m., Grand Marais: A squad backed
into another vehicle.
11:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a
wallet on Gunflint Trail.
12:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Animal
disturbance reported on South Broadway.
2:26 p.m., Grand Portage: Fuel drive-off
reported from Ryden Road. The driver was
located and escorted back to pay.
3:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic hazard
(branch) reported on Gunflint Trail.
8:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Water emergency
at Marina Road.
10:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud music
complaint on South Shore Drive.

Monday, July 8
1:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a
loud beach party on First Avenue East. The
revelers were warned.
3:36 a.m., Tofte: Medical call (stomach
pain) on Tofte Homestead Road.
6:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transfer.
7:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the
ditch off West Highway 61. A tow was
called.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted
at the jail with inmate transfer.
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
motor vehicle accident on West Second
Street.
11:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Gunflint Trail.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to
a parking problem on East Highway 61.
1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a grass
fire on the Canadian side of Sag Lake Trail.

Tuesday, July 9
6:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Member of Search
& Rescue lost a radio on Gunflint Trail. It
may have been picked up by someone else
on the call.
9:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Police transport.
10:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted
at the jail.
10:19 a.m., Grand Marais: The drug takeback container in the LEC lobby was
emptied.
11:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Automatic fire
alarm at Temperance Landing.
1:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Gunflint Trail.

2:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of damage
to property on Benedict Lane that has
occurred over the past two-plus years, and
has recently gotten worse. Examples include
things askew; American flag on the ground;
tampering with lights; two oars ripped off
the shed and broken; bumper on the dock
missing and rope cut off.
2:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
suspicious activity on West Highway 61. A
person kept calling the park asking a lot of
questions over and over again.
6:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
are three dogs running loose downtown,
and he almost hit one of them. The owner
called to claim two of them; the third one
could not be located.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Birch Drive.

Wednesday, July 10
12:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Business checks.
5:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical transport.
5:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a
group of ATVers riding on private property
on Timberwolf Lane and damaging the
yard.
6:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Canine training.
8:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Gunflint Trail.
8:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint
on West Highway 61.
8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Hazard reported
on West Highway 61.
9:07 a.m., Grand Portage: Medical call
(chest pains) on Upper Road.
12:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted
another agency at Toohey Lake.

neglect issue reported regarding young
children apparently left unattended..

Thursday, July 11
3:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Automatic fire
alarm on First Avenue East.
7:53 a.m., Lutsen: Automatic fire alarm on
Ski Hill Road.
8:30 a.m., Grand Portage: Medical call
(dizziness) on Upper Road.
8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: A dark green
wallet was found on East First Street.
9:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on
Gunflint Trail.
9:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
numerous washouts on Greenwood Lake
Road due to a severe downpour.
11:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
was a dead wolf on the highway at mile
marker 130. A state trooper moved the wolf
off the roadway.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint
on Gunflint Trail regarding a black pickup
truck that was weaving all over. The vehicle
could not be located.
1:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Numerous reports
received about an injured deer that seems to
have been hit by a car on East Highway 61.
3:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A red leather
wallet was found outside the Laundromat
on West Third Street. The owner was
contacted and picked it up.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Juvenile trouble
reported at the skate park on West Fifth
Street.
9:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Automatic fire
alarm on West Highway 61.
