2:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious activity
on West Second Street; the suspects were gone when a
deputy arrived.
2:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious activity on
Fifth Avenue West.
7:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on West
Highway 61.
8:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic hazard reported on East
Highway 61 was referred to State Patrol.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic hazard was reported on
Gunflint Trail.
10:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic hazard reported on
East Highway 61.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported at
Sweet Grass Xing.
12:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with a rescue
on East Highway 61.
2:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of smoke in the area of
East Fifth Street.
2:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a water
emergency on Cummings Road.
10:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to a
disturbance on Upper Road.
Tuesday, July 2
12:35 a.m., Grand Marais: An open door was discovered
on North Broadway.
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Water patrol.
9:57 a.m., Grand Marais: A day pack was found on
Clearwater Road.
11:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Canine training.
12:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a loose dog on
West Highway 61.
1:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual conduct
juvenile investigation.
2:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost dog on
the Gunflint Trail.
3:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Canine training.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: A red purse was found on
Gunflint Trail.
8:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another
agency.
9:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (hip and shoulder
injury) at Austin’s Landing.
9:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on
Wisconsin Street.
11:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint on
First Avenue West.
Wednesday, July 3
1:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical transport.
6:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on East First
Street. People were sleeping in a vehicle.
8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Attempt to locate. The caller’s
husband was found at his father’s residence.
8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Search & Rescue was mobilized
after the caller’s two grandsons went fishing on Sag
lake and apparently did not return. However, they had
returned late the previous day and left early, so there was
an appearance of not coming back.
11:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Business checks.
11:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Miscellaneous fire call on
Gunflint Trail.
1:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Car-deer accident on West
Highway 61.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Shoplifting reported on
Wisconsin Street. Three hats were stolen and the culprit
was apprehended.
4:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of adult abuse was
determined to be unfounded.
5:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (chest pain) on
East Highway 61.
5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist.
5:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on First
Avenue West.
6:00 p.m., Hovland: Public assist on County Road 14.
Parents wanted a deputy to speak to kids about the
dangers of trafficking.
Thursday, July 4
1:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (short of breath)
on South Clearwater Road.
7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical transport.
9:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint about an
erratic driver on West Highway 61.
10:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance (loose
cat) on West Highway 61.
11:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on West
Highway 61.
12:35 p.m., Hovland: Medical call (possible stroke) on
County Road 14.
1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Business and residence checks.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (allergic reaction)
on Gunflint Trail.
4:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on Gunflint Trail.
5:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Car key found on Gunflint
Trail.
9:32 p.m., Lutsen: Fireworks complaint on Cascade
Beach Road.
10:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Fireworks complaint on Third
Avenue East. The kids were gone when a deputy arrived.
11:04 p.m., Grand Portage: Medical call (trouble
breathing) on Eliza Road.
11:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Eighth Avenue
West lost a car key.
