6:28 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity reported on
Townsite Road.
6:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made following a welfare check
on Eighth Avenue West. A woman who was walking through
residential yards was detained and taken in for evaluation, and
then booked for fourth-degree assault.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on Gunflint Trail.
Saturday, April 20
8:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Animal disturbance reported on
Second Avenue East.
12:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Mailboxes on Devil Track Road were
run over and damaged.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called about illegal water
skipping on South Shore Drive at Devil Track Lake. The activity
is illegal without a permit.
5:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported on West Fifth Street.
9:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a disturbance at
Grandma Ray’s on First Avenue West. Two parties were causing
trouble and were asked to leave; they were taken to their hotel.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another agency on
South Broadway.
Sunday, April 21
5:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off West Highway
61. State Patrol responded and made an arrest for DUI.
9:12 a.m., Hovland: Medical call on County Road 14.
12:29 p.m., Lutsen: Public assist on Cascade Beach Road.
1:12 p.m., Lutsen: Incident with squad on Cascade Beach Road.
A deputy was turning around in a tight area and damaged the
tailgate.
3:12 p.m., Lutsen: Complaint about an abandoned vehicle on
County Road 34 was referred to a towing company.
5:08 p.m., Lutsen: Hazard reported on Mink Ranch Road.
7:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another agency on
West Second Street.
Tuesday, April 23
8:45 a.m., Grand Portage: School bus stop arm violation on Bay
Road. The driver was cited.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a disturbance on
West Highway 61. A man was lying in the bike path screaming,
and took off in a vehicle. Deputies detained the vehicle and
determined the occupants were having an argument. No action
was taken.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Residence check.
2:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted another agency on
West Second Street.
4:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A day planner was found on West
Highway 61 and returned to the owner.
Wednesday, April 24
4:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Medical call (difficulty breathing) on
White Pine Lane.
6:18 a.m., Hovland: The Grand Portage game warden was
notified of an injured moose on East Highway 61.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic complaint on West Highway 61.
8:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Criminal sexual conduct investigation.
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Baby items were found on Sugar Loaf
Road. The owner was notified and picked them up.
10:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist on Gunflint Trail; the
caller was wondering if slander is a crime.
12:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to resolve a parking
problem on Wisconsin Street.
4:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from West Highway 61
reported smoke in the area.
4:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Residence check requested.
4:15 p.m., Grand Marais: E-mail fraud reported.
5:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Welfare check requested.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Property lost/found on Gunflint Trail.
