Monday, March 19
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe Routes
to School.
1:21 p.m., Lutsen: Suspicious activity/trespassing reported
on Caribou Trail.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a
pick-up truck left unattended for three days near Birchbark
Gallery.
9:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found in the parking
lot at Subway.
Tuesday, March 20
7:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
7:56 a.m., Grand Portage: Safe Routes to School.
8:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver cited following a vehicle
accident at the high school.
8:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer, partially on
the highway, at mile marker 101.
10:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:58 p.m., Hovland: Arrest made for DUI after a report of
erratic driving on Highway 61.
7:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported.
Wednesday, March 21
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Driver struck a coyote near mile
marker 102.
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
8:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree hanging on the
broadband line on West Fifth Street.
8:36 a.m., Tofte: Caller from Bayview Drive said a dog got
into his chicken coop and killed nine birds. He has the dog.
11:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s small Yorkie was missing.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
9:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of an erratic/hotrodding driver near Cascade River State Park, causing other
drivers to swerve.
Thursday, March 22
7:33 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
7:55 a.m., Grand Portage: School zone patrol.
8:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
11:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a transformer blew
near the horse park, and the power went out.
11:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone outage on Croftville Road.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer near County
Road 7 on Highway 61.
9:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there is an injured
golden retriever (bleeding from the left paw) hanging out
around Hollow Rock Resort for the past two hours.
10:47 p.m., Hovland: Caller from Moose Valley Road said
there is a suspicious small aircraft flying in a north-south
pattern for about 45 minutes.
Friday, March 23
10:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Email scam attempt reported.
2:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost her pink glasses case
which also contained ID.
3:14 p.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
4:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller saw a loose white longhaired dog running around the YMCA, and almost hit it.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is an empty large
dark SUV stuck on West Bearskin Lake.
7:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck at mile marker 95. A
deputy was asked to dispatch it.
8:02 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said he and his wife are stuck
in his truck on the snowmobile trail at Temperance-Six
Hundred roads. Some snowmobilers stopped to help.
8:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:26 p.m., Lutsen: A snowmobiler struck a tree.
8:50 p.m., Grand Portage: A young person was trying to call
his grandpa, but called 911 instead. He apologized and hung
up.
Saturday, March 24
8:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle break-in on Second
Avenue West reported. Various items were missing, and the
inside was trashed.
11:25 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for an
11-year-old girl with hip and head pain, and possibly a
concussion.
11:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said it appears there is a
dog out on the ice near Five Mile Rock.
1:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A phone was found on the
Gunflint Trail and dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office.
1:58 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
woman in her 40s who fell while skiing, about 20 percent
down the hill.
4:48 p.m., Tofte: A couple in a Kia Sorento was stuck on the
snowmobile trail off Six Hundred Road.
5:03 p.m., Lutsen: A vehicle was stuck in the ditch off Clara
Lake Road.
5:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was concerned for
a couple people who were climbing on the pylons in Lake
Superior near the Rock Cut because the wind is strong.
8:11 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is a large object, possibly
a deer or boulder, in the southbound lane of the highway.
11:41 p.m., Lutsen: Disturbance at Lutsen Resort involving
a group of college-age people vs. a family (the father is
somewhat aggressive).
Sunday, March 25
2:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Two vehicles were stuck on the
snowmobile trail on the Meridian Road.
9:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
11:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said an older man is
peeing on a historical marker at the Rock Cut.
12:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 114.
5:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A deceased person was found at
Golden Eagle Lodge.
7:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Caspers Hill.
8:41 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said he was stuck on a
snowmobile trail, but had help coming and will try to get
unstuck on their own.
9:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
