Monday, March 12
12:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Downtown foot patrol.
7:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
7:48 a.m., Grand Portage: School zone patrol.
8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: School bus driver reported a
school bus stop arm violation.
10:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from West Fifth Street
said the furnace just made a boom noise and now the
smoke detectors went off.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Courthouse security.
12:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing keys reported.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that water is coming out
of the manhole cover at East Highway 61-First Avenue
East.
2:27 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
42-year-old man with a head injury.
3:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a cat stuck in a storm
drain at West Second Street-Ninth Avenue West.
3:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
3:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Cash that was found on the
courthouse steps was handed over to a deputy.
Tuesday, March 13
7:30 a.m., Lutsen: Safe Routes to School.
7:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a man in dark clothing
walking southbound on Highway 61 near Isak Hansen’s.
The caller said it’s difficult to see him in the dark.
8:14 p.m., Grand Marais: A child called from the Y
wanting a ride home. There was nobody at home for him
to ask.
8:58 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy called to a disturbance at
Caribou Highlands Lodge, where some intoxicated guests
were being loud and obnoxious.
Wednesday, March 14
1:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Downtown foot patrol.
4:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a badly injured wolf
on the highway near Rosebush Lane.
7:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a deer struggling to get
out of the water near Outpost Motel.
8:03 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
9:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost blue pouch with
3D games inside.
9:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said this is the second
time he’s seen a drone chasing and harassing the gulls
near the co-op, and wants to speak with a deputy about it.
9:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A car was hit and damaged in
the school parking lot.
1:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Scam phone calls reported.
4:42 p.m., Lutsen: Power outage on Caribou Trail.
6:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist near
the golf course.
8:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for disorderly
conduct at Best Western.
Thursday, March 15
7:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential security alarm set off
on East Highway 61.
7:48 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance requested
by a person who wanted to remove his stuff from his
apartment.
1:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Child protection.
1:56 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
17-year-old male with facial injuries.
2:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Fraud phone call reported.
3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked for some
information about the legality of driving golf carts on the
city streets.
6:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle was parked
on the sidewalk near Bluewater Café.
8:33 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
9:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Fourth Avenue West
said she was walking her dog and someone came up and
punched her in the face.
10:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Golf Course Road
said he just let off a couple shotgun blasts to scare away
some wolves that were running around his yard. He
was advised to speak with a game warden about other
alternatives for scaring off the wolves.
Friday, March 16
7:29 a.m., Hovland: School bus stop arm violation
reported.
8:01 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
8:24 a.m., Tofte: An injured deer needed to be dispatched.
10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
11:24 a.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost wallet
containing foreign documents, possibly in Schroeder.
12:10 p.m., Lutsen: Report of two large dogs loose on Big
Cedar Trail.
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus patrol.
9:37 p.m., Schroeder: Tow truck needed to remove a
vehicle that was stuck on the snowmobile trail.
10:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured fawn on
the highway near Durfee Creek.
Saturday, March 17
8:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured deer on the
highway.
6:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he found a huge
German shepherd that looks lost near Great Expectation
School, and he’ll bring it up to the Law Enforcement
Center.
Sunday, March 18
5:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic dispute.
6:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Dead deer in the westbound lane
of the highway near Kadunce River.
7:43 a.m., Tofte: Report of a frozen culvert, causing water
to flow over the road.
3:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
