Monday, March 5
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead coyote (or
wolf) with a bullet hole on the shoulder of County Road

10:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
10:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Squad car was involved in a
traffic accident on old North Shore Road, Duluth, on
March 2.
4:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Truck in the ditch off South
Gunflint Lake Road.
8:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist on
the Gunflint Trail.
Tuesday, March 6
7:27 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said somebody took his
phone and broke it, then drove away. It is valued at $800.
7:31 a.m., Lutsen: Safe Routes to School.
9:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
10:35 a.m., Grand Marais: A customer left his wallet at
Ben Franklin.
7:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Wednesday, March 7
7:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Truck driver said his semi has
broken down, but he is off the highway and waiting for
a tow.
7:48 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
7:49 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy removed a deer from
the road.
10:17 a.m., Grand Marais: Joynes Department Store
reported that a person was acting erratic.
10:26 a.m., Lutsen: False fire alarm at the ski hill.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to surrender
two long guns.
11:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a delivery
truck driver who locked himself out of his truck at SOB.
11:29 a.m., Grand Marais: A license plate was found at
the Recycle Center.
11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy checked on a vehicle
that had lots of smoke coming out on West Highway 61.
6:10 p.m., Grand Portage: Gunshots were heard on
Blazes Road, twice in the last five minutes.
8:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported smell of propane near
the library.
Thursday, March 8
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
7:58 a.m., Grand Portage: Safe Routes to School.
8:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of very slippery road
surface at West Fifth Street-Fifth Avenue West.
11:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer-vehicle accident at
Highway 61-Fall River.
12:17 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
1:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding
construction workers parking near the entry of the
Recycle Center.
3:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
4:54 p.m., Grand Marais: A black lab with a broken leg
was seen in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue West-West Third
Street.
Friday, March 9
7:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
7:25 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
9:54 a.m., Hovland: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway.
10:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud phone call reported.
12:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle parked at Voyageur
Brewing was scraped, causing a dent and a little paint
chip.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint by a customer that
the hospital was not plowing the handicapped spots.
1:19 p.m., Hovland: Power outage from Hovland to
Grand Portage.
3:49 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
5:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Person turned herself in on a
probation violation.
6:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with inmate
booking.
11:26 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, March 10
8:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a strong propane
smell at Sawtooth Ridges.
12:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to know why
someone was stopping at his house.
2:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said her friend seems to
be incoherent. She’s known her for a long time, since she
was a young girl, and she’s known to party.
3:14 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assisted a motorist.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer-car collision near Isak
Hansen’s.
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone fraud call reported.
11:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is something
like an alarm, or maybe a wind chime, going off near the
Rock Shop.
Sunday, March 11
11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
11:51 a.m., Tofte: A vehicle was hit at Holiday, but there
was no damage.
1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost gold necklace
near Bluewater.
3:43 p.m., Hovland: Motorist assist at Highway
61-Arrowhead Trail.
6:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A large white dog ran off from
his Second Avenue East residence.
