Monday, Feb. 26
6:58 a.m., Lutsen: Report of an injured deer off the
highway between mile markers 91 and 92.
7:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller complained about her
neighbor’s dog, preventing her daughter from going to
school.
7:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
11:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud phone calls reported.
11:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted an abandoned
vehicle removed from his property.
6:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Snowmobile complaint
regarding persons who tore up the ski trails at Bally
Creek.
8:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a
snowmobile with a cover on it, facing downward in the
snow, that looks like it bounced off a trailer near mile
marker 98. There are no footsteps around it.
Tuesday, Feb. 27
7:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
7:49 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
12:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Alarm sounded at the
courthouse.
4:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle parked near the donut
shop was damaged by a hit-and-run driver on Friday or
Saturday. The hood was bent and the grill was broken.
11:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted at the jail.
Wednesday, Feb. 28
7:53 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
8:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured wolf near
mile marker 105.
8:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
12:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of graffiti (spray paint)
on the sign at Trout Lake Road.
3:29 p.m., Grand Portage: School zone patrol.
6:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted her puppy back
from somebody who was caring for it while she was
incarcerated/moving.
7:20 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
8:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of suspicious individuals
at the YMCA.
9:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a beeping/chiming
alarm going off near the Rock Shop on West Highway 61.
Thursday, March 1
12:21 a.m., Tofte: Report of a disturbance at Bluefin Bay.
Two men were driving back and forth and hollering in
the parking lot.
6:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
7:32 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
7:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Chimney fire on Fourth Avenue
West.
7:55 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
9:41 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off Devil
Track Road.
6:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Dog bite victim treated at the
hospital.
Friday, March 2
1:09 a.m., Schroeder: A small pick-up was on the side of
the highway near Beacon Hill Drive.
6:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
7:29 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:48 a.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made for possession of a
controlled substance.
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a
delivery truck in the middle of Fifth Avenue.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
1:04 p.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs made an arrest
for drug possession.
2:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted the game
warden.
7:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted at the jail.
11:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to Grandma
Ray’s to deal with an unruly customer.
Saturday, March 3
5:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off Moose
Mountain Drive.
6:45 a.m., Schroeder: Injured deer on the highway near
Cross River needs to be dispatched.
7:47 a.m., Tofte: Power outage on Sawbill Trail.
8:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about kids on dirt
bikes on County Road 14.
5:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage reported
to a vehicle parked near the co-op.
Sunday, March 4
12:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted some
information as to ways to stay awake while driving home
to Grand Marais from Duluth.
2:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are raccoon
and coyote carcasses in a gravel pit off County Road 6.
2:55 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy called to a disturbance at the
Summit Chalet.
8:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 101. There are no human injuries, but the deer is
dead.
9:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 109.
10:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance at Aspen Inn. The
caller could hear yelling and crying.
