Monday, Feb. 12
7:18 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is a red vehicle “hotrodding” on the highway.
7:37 a.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy provided
transportation to court.
3:52 p.m., Hovland: Motorist called to let law
enforcement know that his disabled vehicle is parked
along the highway north of Hovland, and is not a hazard.
It will be towed tomorrow.
7:04 p.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs reported a port
runner, about half an hour ago.
8:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: School bus patrol.
10:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted MDA with
execution of a court order.
2:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a no-contact
order violation.
4:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost dog on the
highway near the library.
Wednesday, Feb. 14
7:41 a.m., Grand Marais: School zone patrol.
7:51 a.m., Grand Portage: School zone patrol.
9:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on Fifth
Avenue West.
3:13 p.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
3:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller had a question for a
deputy. It’s not a “high importance-type question,” but he
would like it answered.
6:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint at
Birchwood Apartments.
11:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a person
screaming and pounding on the front door of IGA. It
started about five minutes ago.
Thursday, Feb. 15
10:07 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there are pieces
of a snowmobile in the culvert near the Community
Center.
12:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to know why
nobody is enforcing parking in the handicapped spaces,
all over town.
1:53 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said he was following a
truck with a snowmobile trailer, and an Otter sled fell off
the back of it.
2:07 p.m., Lutsen: Ski Patrol found a 40-year-old man
unconscious and called for the ambulance.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was lost somewhere
near the Laundromat.
9:03 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
Friday, Feb. 16
12:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Downtown foot patrol.
4:52 a.m., Tofte: Female caller was experiencing back
pain from a snowmobile accident she had yesterday.
9:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the door of the
Coast Guard station garage was wide open.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Two counterfeit $100 bills were
received at the GunFlint Tavern.
2:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, Feb. 17
9:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Injured deer on the highway at
mile marker 111.
10:04 a.m., Schroeder: Suspicious activity reported on
Cramer Road.
11:24 a.m., Grand Marais: A chocolate lab was found in
the Rec Park.
11:27 a.m., Lutsen: Snowmobile accident on Barker Lake
Road. A 57-year-old man suffered a head injury.
4:18 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
49-year-old man with lower back pain.
5:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a lost dog with hurt
legs is heading toward the highway from Fall River Road.
6:48 p.m., Schroeder: Fire alarm at Temperance Landing.
9:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic dispute at Birchwood
Apartments.
Sunday, Feb. 18
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle crash reported at
Gunflint Lake Access.
11:15 a.m., Grand Marais: A large white fluffy dog,
“Chaco,” left his Fifth Avenue West residence about an
hour ago. The leash should still be attached.
2:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to report snowy
roads near Super America and the co-op. Could it be
plowed?
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an SUV sitting in the
middle of the Gunflint Trail. The driver was inside.
4:00 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch near Lutsen
Resort.
4:38 p.m., Tofte: A truck hit a tree on the Sawbill Trail.
4:58 p.m., Tofte: Report of a snowmobile trailer in the
middle of the northbound lane of the highway.
6:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a large white
bus driving fast and passing vehicles on the highway,
heading east from Schroeder.
Monday, Feb. 19
10:40 a.m., Tofte: Parking complaint.
7:16 p.m., Hovland: Caller’s pick-up was broken down
on the shoulder, but was not blocking the highway.
9:32 p.m., Tofte: A caller was trying to locate a group of
snowmobilers who had been staying near Crescent Lake
Campground. They were expected home this afternoon.
