Sunday, Jan. 21
2:41 a.m., Lutsen: Caller from Caribou Highlands was
locked out of his room.
6:16 a.m., Lutsen: Report of a pick-up truck in the ditch
at Ski Hill Road-Highway 61. It looks like it may have
rolled, but is back on its wheels now.
10:40 a.m., Grand Portage: Customs stopped a man with
27 grams of marijuana.
2:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost her driver’s license
sometime Saturday.
10:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller from the lodge said his
girlfriend brought him up there, and now he wants to go
home.
Monday, Jan. 22
12:22 a.m., Lutsen: Motorist said Ski Hill Road is pure
ice.
10:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
10:39 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
an 11-year-old male with a lower leg fracture.
10:45 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
11:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a vicious
dog on County Road 44.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for expired
tabs.
4:00 p.m., Tofte: Theft of services reported at Bluefin Bay.
4:03 p.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about a vehicle
speeding up and down Store Road.
4:06 p.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about snowmobiles
on Upper Road.
4:35 p.m., Lutsen: Snowmobilers turned their machine
over and can’t get it upright.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
Tuesday, Jan. 23
8:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the lights at the
Community Center are not turning on at night.
2:36 p.m., Grand Marais: CO detector was going off at an
East Highway 61 residence. The occupants went outside.
4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Game warden discovered an
abandoned snowmobile off County Road 14.
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
5:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on County Road

7:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he could see
something on fire near mile marker 122.
Wednesday, Jan. 24
7:47 a.m., Hovland: Deer struck and injured on the
highway.
3:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone scam reported.
5:17 p.m., Lutsen: A disabled vehicle was partially
blocking the lane of traffic on the highway near Ski Hill
Road.
5:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A broken-down truck near
Cascade Beach Road was creating a hazard. State Patrol
was notified.
Thursday, Jan. 25
9:04 a.m., Tofte: False alarm from Bluefin.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted Public Health
& Human Services.
1:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a probation
violation.
9:45 p.m., Tofte: Suspicious activity reported on
Johannes Lane.
9:55 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy called to remove unruly guests
from the pool on Ski Hill Road.
Friday, Jan. 26
10:11 a.m., Grand Marais: An iPhone was found at
Pincushion Overlook.
6:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
9:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made for an assault.
11:32 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
Saturday, Jan. 27
9:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a vehicle rolled
several times off the Gunflint Trail, and is now back
on its wheels. A 13-year-old girl was having trouble
breathing.
2:29 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm on Tofte Homestead
Drive.
3:01 p.m., Hovland: A musher saw a person slumped
over the wheel of a vehicle at Esther Lake Road-
Arrowhead Trail.
7:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the hospital,
where an agitated patient was trying to walk out.
Sunday, Jan. 28
7:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller on Devil Track Road
said his furnace wasn’t working.
9:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Two dogs were seen running
around the Gunflint Trail.
10:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said that on the east
side of Devil Track River, on the north side of the bridge,
there is a small deer.
11:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a large bag of trash
in the middle of the highway at mile marker 102.
11:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an open door on a
trailer at the Rec Park.
11:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report a black-and-white
hound dog running at large downtown.
1:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Three snowmobiles were
damaged near Best Western.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A parked vehicle at Birchwood
Apartments was hit by another vehicle.
7:49 p.m., Grand Marais: The pop machine at the
Community Center was damaged.
