reported that the German shepherd has
been missing from its South Shore Drive
residence for about 1½ hours.
9:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on
a probation violation.
Saturday, Dec. 9
5:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglary alarm
at Dairy Queen.
8:36 a.m., Grand Marais: The county
highway department was notified of a
tree down across the Gunflint Trail near
Hedstrom’s Lumber.
8:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle
accident reported near the Pincushion
Mountain overlook.
12:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle slid off
County Road 14 at Caspers Hill. There
were no injuries, and a tow truck was
called.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
3:20 p.m., Grand Marais: A runner on
East Highway 61 was bitten by a dog.

a couple kids skateboarding down Second
Avenue.
5:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was
stuck off the Gunflint Trail between Pine
Mountain and Greenwood Lake roads.

wanted an intoxicated employee removed

is in the upper side ditch of the highway

giant nail in it was removed from County

Homestead Drive.

1:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm on
North Bearskin Lake Road.
3:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
requested to remove an intoxicated person
from a residence.
8:55 p.m., Grand Portage: Car-deer
accident at Mile Creek Road. The car was
not driveable; the deer was not dead.
10:35 p.m., Lutsen: Minors were
attempting to be served alcohol at Papa
Charlie’s using others’ IDs.
Sunday, Dec. 17
12:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for
DWI.
11:07 a.m., Grand Marais: A cell phone
was found and turned in at the Sheriff ’s
Office.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic abuse
reported.

12:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
there is a husky in the dog park, and no
one around.
7:50 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious
activity investigated at the Customs
building.
8:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
9:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by
a vehicle near Mile Creek Road. The car
was still driveable; the deer ran off into the
woods.
Monday, Dec. 18
7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to
School.
12:12 p.m., Grand Marais: A chocolate lab
was seen running on Eighth Avenue West.
6:11 p.m., Grand Marais: A fuel delivery
driver was overdue.
Tuesday, Dec. 19
3:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by
a vehicle on East Highway 61, and is still
alive in the ditch.
10:30 a.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm
on West Fifth Street.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: A sled dog
wearing a gray harness was running on
the highway at mile marker 116. The caller
picked him up and will keep the dog at his
house.
4:10 p.m., Lutsen: Caller was concerned
about how high his electric bill is, and is
concerned someone may be squatting at
his home.
4:41 p.m., Lutsen: Management at Lutsen
Mountains requested that an abandoned
vehicle in their parking lot be towed.
7:01 p.m., Grand Marais: A yellow-hair
dog that was running on the highway east
of town was picked up and brought into
the Law Enforcement Center.
Wednesday, Dec. 20
6:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported
at a local business after a customer
slapped an employee in the face.
7:49 a.m., Grand Portage: School zone
patrol.
3:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there
was a man sleeping in a black SUV in a
driveway on Devil Track Road, blocking
the whole driveway.
4:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller warned
that the lower block of the Gunflint Trail
was very icy.
5:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a
vehicle at County Roads 48 and 7.
7:51 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
