Thursday, Nov. 30
9:39 a.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
12:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
5:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Aspen tree down across the
Gunflint Trail near Lullaby Creek Road.
7:58 p.m., Lutsen: A 4-year-old chocolate lab was
missing from a Caribou Trail residence.
Friday, Dec. 1
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Inmate transport.
9:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he lost his wallet
somewhere in town.
Saturday, Dec. 2
5:26 a.m., Grand Portage: Injured deer on the fog line
between mile markers 145 and 146.
3:08 p.m., Lutsen: Arrest made on a St. Louis County
warrant.
Sunday, Dec. 3
1:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy was called to a
disturbance behind Sven & Ole’s.
11:31 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
12:01 p.m., Grand Marais: A loose dog was traveling
Croftville Road.
12:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was seen running on
the highway near Solbakken.
4:18 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 76.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a large rock
in the roadway at mile marker 104.
4:53 p.m., Tofte: Caller said the sky is glowing and
there’s smoke in the air too. It was not a structure fire,
however. Somebody was burning a pile of wood on
Good Neighbor Hill.
10:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of bad road
conditions near Ward and Caribou lakes. Three cars
have already gone into the ditch.
Monday, Dec. 4
3:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller warned that upper Pike
Lake Road was very slippery.
7:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a vehicle was in
the ditch near North Brule River bridge.
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:25 a.m., Tofte: Child custody issue.
1:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle parked on
Wisconsin Street had expired tabs.
2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on Eighth
Avenue West.
3:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes from School.
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from County Road 14
could hear a ship out on the big lake blowing its horn.
9:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was wondering if there
have been any reports of a blue fireball coming down
just after 9 p.m. The caller saw it about 10 miles into
Lake County, but it appeared to be north of his location.
10:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about the laser
light show on the sign at Kah Nee Tah Gallery. The
caller said it was shining onto the highway.
Tuesday, Dec. 5
2:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage at Hillhaven.
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
12:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a set of keys about
three weeks ago, and is not sure where.
2:10 p.m., Hovland: Delivery truck in the ditch off
Jackson Lake Road.
4:50 p.m., Tofte: Report of a vehicle traveling on West
Highway 61 near Surfside Resort at 20 mph with its
lights off.
5:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity at the
Co-op.
5:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on
County Road 7. It’s still alive and on the side of the road.
8:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the hospital
to deal with an intoxicated person.
Wednesday, Dec. 6
1:49 a.m., Schroeder: A deer hit the side of the
ambulance.
8:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle near
mile marker 122.
10:01 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
12:00 p.m., Hovland: Report of an injured eagle on the
side of the highway near mile marker 127.
3:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:08 p.m., Hovland: Deputy assisted a motorist at mile
marker 126.
7:09 p.m., Lutsen: Arrest made for domestic assault.
11:54 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm set off at Dairy
Queen.
Thursday, Dec. 7
3:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Fire alarm activated at the
Border Patrol station.
3:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious man at
Superior RV.
7:28 a.m., Grand Marais: A springer spaniel ran off
around 5 a.m. from West Second Street.
4:47 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a dead deer in the
eastbound lane of the highway near mile marker 93.
10:24 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted State Patrol.
11:48 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck buy a vehicle.
