7:49 a.m., Grand Marais: School
patrol.
7:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Escort
volleyball team out of town.
8:08 a.m., Grand Portage:
School zone patrol.
10:24 a.m., Grand Portage:
Three-year-old playing on
the phone, gave the phone
to mom when asked; mom
advised that she would not
let the child have the phone
anymore.
11:53 a.m., Grand Marais:
Traffic stop, warning
given.
1:51 p.m., Grand
Marais: Request for
next of kin notification.
3 p.m., Grand Marais:
Traffic stop, warning
given.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais:
Traffic stop, warning given.
4:30 p.m. Grand Marais: Phase one
hang-up on call back, the message
is that the number is unreachable.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost credit
card.
7:42 p.m., Grand Portage: Fourwheelers whipping around on
Highway 61. One driver is wearing
an orange jacket, and the other is
wearing a dark coat.
10:11 p.m., Tofte: Citation for
driving after revocation.
10:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Threeyear old called 911. Was able to talk
to the mom and she apologized.
Suggested taking the phone battery
out when her child is playing with
it; however, this is her only phone
for work. She is going to keep the
phone up higher.
Thursday, Nov. 9
7:58 a.m., Grand Marais: School
patrol.
8:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Black semi
with a soft-sided curtain trailer
traveling at a high rate of speed
on Highway 61. It keeps swerving
trying to pass vehicles.
12:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a bear cub running down the south
side of Highway61. It went through
the fence and down in the area of
the Recreation Park.
1:36 p.m. Grand Marais: Injured
eagle on the lake side of Highway
61. It looks like it can’t fly.
4:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
concerned about a friend she hasn’t
heard from since Friday, November
3, at 4 p.m.
9:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Party
called to let us know that she and
others at the business where she
works can hear a security alarm
going off across the lake.
Friday, Nov. 10
12:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Party is
telling the caller on Facebook that
he is going to commit suicide by
taking pills tonight.
8:14 a.m., Grand Portage: Hit
and injured deer on Highway 61.
The vehicle suffered front end
and headlight damage. Called
and transferred to State Patrol for
dispatch.
2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said that he’s out of town and his
girlfriend told him that she was
going to throw his stuff out.
3:17 p.m., Lutsen: Deer dead on the
Cascade Beach Road.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
wanted to know what to do about
seeing a party out hunting who is
not supposed to be in possession of
firearms.
7:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman
stopped in to report that she saw a
three-legged husky running around
by IGA when she left work.
9:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported
street light out at an intersection
and the remainder of the street
lights along the harbor are flashing
on and off.

10:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported
burglar alarm is a false alarm.
11:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
has a bloody nose, and it won’t quit
bleeding.
Saturday, Nov. 11
7:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Door wide
open at resident’s house.
12:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Report
that Eighth Avenue is very slippery.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Request
an AAA tow truck for lockout a
mile west of the Rock Cut.
12:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Called
to have deputy talk to him about
hit-and-run damage to his vehicle
that happened in Lutsen; previously
reported but has new information
and request.
2:11 p.m., Lutsen: Motorist in ditch
needs assistance.
6:19 p.m. Grand Marais: Male
walking in traffic heading
westbound on the fourth street
from Second Avenue West.
The man is wearing a hooded
sweatshirt.
10:44 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy called to
remove an unwanted female.
11:02 p.m., Gunflint Trail: Power
just went out.
Sunday, Nov. 12
10:47 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation
issued.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
from East Fifth Street said two
hunting dogs wearing blaze orange
collars just ran through her yard.
3:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of a
tree stand reported.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer
struck and killed on the highway at
Fall River.
10:19 p.m., Grand Marais:
Caller said there is a vehicle
with its flashers on blocking the
northbound lane of Devil Track
Road.
Monday, Nov. 13
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer
struck on the highway at mile
marker 102.
10:52 a.m., Grand Marais:
Attempted phone fraud reported.
4:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer
struck by a vehicle near Isak
Hansen’s.
5:59 p.m., Tofte: An alarm from an
electrical box at Birch Grove School
was going off.
Tuesday, Nov. 14
9:45 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation
issued for speed.
1:56 p.m., Lutsen: Lutsen Resort
reported fraud by a customer
totaling $1,500.
4:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone
scam attempt reported.
6:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
came across a bunch of empty
boxes in the West Fifth Street-Fifth
Avenue West intersection.

6:59 p.m., Grand Marais: An alarm at the courthouse proved to be a malfunctioning camera.

7:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was parked at the end of a driveway on County Road 14, obstructing traffic.

8:29 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay was caused by a fireplace damper that had not been opened.

Wednesday, Nov. 15

8:41 a.m., Grand Marais:
Parking complaint on West Fifth
Street regarding a vehicle that
was blocking a stop sign and fire
hydrant.
3:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy
conducted a school zone patrol.
5:42 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assisted
with a vehicle search.
9:54 p.m., Schroeder: Alarm was set
off at a business.
Thursday, Nov. 16
1:31 a.m., Lutsen: False fire alarm at
the ski hill.
12:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
participated in a DARE program.
1:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Report
of a suspicious man walking near
Great Expectations School.
5:44 p.m., Lutsen: Report of two
vehicles in the ditch near the Sea
Villas.
6:14 p.m., Hovland: Deputy assisted
the driver of a broken-down vehicle
on North Road.
8:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious
activity reported on Mile O’ Pine.
Friday, Nov. 17
7:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
provided courthouse security.
7:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
an injured owl on the side of the
highway.
11:22 a.m., Tofte: Roll-over accident
on the highway involving a Loomis
truck.
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais:
Complaint regarding a motor home
and full-size van parked near the
stop sign on Eighth Avenue West-
Fifth Street all summer.
7:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued for speeding.
Saturday, Nov. 18
11:28 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance
called to the ski hill for a woman
with a possibly broken leg.
11:34 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm
caused by burned food.
12:27 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said there
was an injured deer just a ways
into the woods that appears to have
been hit by a vehicle and needs to
be dispatched.
1:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
from County Road 14 said someone
shot a fawn in his yard, and asked
to speak with a game warden.
5:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller
said she can see a boat with really
bright lights that is coming directly
toward her house.
5:31 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic
citation issued for driving after
revocation.
8:32 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic
citation issued for speeding.
9:47 p.m., Schroeder: Motion alarm
set off at the Cross River Heritage
Center gift shop.
Sunday, Nov. 19
12:15 a.m., Grand Portage: Report
of a vehicle with its flashers on off
the highway at mile marker 149.
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on County Road 7.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Hunter
reported hearing over 100 gunshots
in the last half-hour, and left the
woods for safety. There were seven
or eight trucks parked in the area
of Lindskog Road-Superior Hiking
Trail.
