Monday, Oct. 23
6:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud phone call reported.
3:03 p.m., Grand Portage: School bus stop arm violation.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Altercation between neighbors
reported at Grand Marais Apartments.
11:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down at mile marker 99,
blocking the highway.
Tuesday, Oct. 24
5:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on County Road
60.
5:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on a power line at
Humphrey Circle; a couple branches are on fire.
11:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Large pine down and across
Cascade Beach Road.
3:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on a power line at
County Road 7-West Fifth Street, with a big explosion.
5:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Report that someone was
knocking on a resident’s door at night and leaving single
whole cigarettes on the stoop.
5:47 p.m., Hovland: Caller thought her neighbor was out
on Lake Superior.
6:11 p.m., Lutsen: A young chocolate Lab was roaming the
Sky Rock parking lot.
8:34 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there is a man in the
house, and he’s not sure who it is.
11:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller asked that a deputy
check a tree that is possibly down in his driveway.
Wednesday, Oct. 25
7:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Devil Track
Road.
8:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was threatened by
his neighbor, and wanted to speak with a deputy.
8:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy removed a dead animal
from Mile Creek Road.
11:18 a.m., Tofte: Caller said there is a car parked in the
middle of Onion River Road at the Oberg Mountain
Trailhead with a man sleeping inside.
2:40 p.m., Lutsen: Phone scam reported.
2:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible illegal drug selling
reported.
6:17 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
8:05 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
Thursday, Oct. 26
7:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of an overnight break-in
and theft of a cash box at East Bay Suites.
7:16 a.m., Grand Portage: School bus stop arm violation
reported.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Medical assistance needed at
Magney State Park for a 19-year-old woman with a bad
asthma attack.
8:08 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is an 18-inch diameter
tree in the northbound lane of Ski Hill Road, and people
are driving over parts of it.
8:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree down on Eliasen
Road-County Road 60, blocking the lanes of traffic.
Friday, Oct. 27
1:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of beach rock in the
parking lot at Artist Point and on Wisconsin Street.
7:10 a.m., Lutsen: A car spun out and was blocking the
eastbound lane near Lutsen Resort.
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: The Arrowhead Transit bus was
disabled due to a flat tire at the Kadunce River wayside.
State Patrol was notified.
7:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off County
Road 7.
8:11 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch just south of Lutsen
Resort. Everyone appeared to be okay.
8:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his neighbor’s dogs
went after him whilst he was snowblowing.
3:22 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assisted Customs with
an arrest for possession of 1.6 grams of cocaine.
4:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle near
Hedstrom’s Lumber.
5:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing reported on County
Road 7.
6:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported.
10:25 p.m., Lutsen: Caller from Caribou Highlands said
there are three individuals wandering the hallways and
knocking on doors. They seem intoxicated.
10:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was stuck on Caribou
Trail and needed a tow truck.
11:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy called to a residence to
remove an unwanted person.
Saturday, Oct. 28
12:49 a.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle in the ditch off Casino
Drive.
7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: There was a little girl, wearing
pajamas and boots, in the dining room at the Care Center
who said her mom was in the apartment.
8:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of snowy and slick road
conditions on the Gunflint Trail.
9:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Cascade Beach Road
said her dog ran away last night. She looks like a fox and
her name is Lupin.
9:56 a.m., Grand Marais: A truck rolled over on the
Gunflint Trail near Devil Track Road. It is on its side in
the ditch, and there appear to be no injuries.
10:32 a.m., Grand Portage: Scam letter reported.
11:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is someone
possibly bow hunting near the water tower.
12:48 p.m., Schroeder: Rollover accident at mile marker
74.
6:21 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted State Patrol.
Sunday, Oct. 29
11:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a hole
opening up on County Road 14.
12:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
2:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist who
had two flat tires at Cascade River Road-USFS 161.
9:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a three-legged husky
running near Broadway, heading west on Highway 61.
