Saturday, Oct. 14
12:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer
struck at mile marker 121. The deer
ran off, and the vehicle sustained
damage to the grill.
8:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
could hear an alarm coming from
somewhere near the courthouse.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
4:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a garage fire on Hungry Jack Road.
5:54 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest
made for DWI at the border.
6:01 p.m., Hovland: Complaint
about shooting on North Road.
6:39 p.m., Schroeder: A deer was
struck and injured near Superior
Ridge Resort.
6:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
could hear a beeping noise coming
from the courthouse.
7:14 p.m., Grand Portage: False
fire alarm received from an East
Highway 61 residence.
Sunday, Oct. 15
9:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Timberwolf Lane.
10:50 a.m., Grand Marais: A dog
was found on Pike Lake Road.
4:01 p.m., Lutsen: A vehicle parked
on Ski Hill Road was damaged by
another vehicle.
6:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off from Super America.
11:40 p.m., Lutsen: Possible alcohol
poisoning reported at Caribou
Highlands.
Monday, Oct. 16
12:36 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the
ditch at mile marker 92.
4:02 a.m., Lutsen: Complaint
regarding three nuisance bears at
Paradise Park Place.
11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run reported at South of the Border.
11:24 a.m., Tofte: Grass fire
reported on Oberg Hiking Trail,
about halfway up the loop.
2:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
there is a pontoon parked on the
old runway near Skyport, and it’s
FAA property.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais:
Trespassing/shooting reported on
County Road 7. Somebody was line
shooting pumpkins.
11:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said it looks like the North Shore
Waste truck is in the ditch near the
Home Center.

Tuesday, Oct. 17
3:15 a.m., Lutsen: Report of a dead
deer on the highway at mile marker
91.
5:08 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck by a
vehicle about a mile east of Caribou
Trail.
5:38 p.m., Grand Marais: A disabled
vehicle was blocking the eastbound
lane of the highway near mile
marker 95.
7:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller’s
two dogs are running loose.
Wednesday, Oct. 18
9:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
complained about logging trucks
jake-braking down the Gunflint
Trail, several times a day for
months now.
10:21 a.m., Grand Marais: A
12-year-old fell off a rubber ball
onto his tailbone and was afraid to
move. The ambulance was called to
the school.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Scam
phone call reported.
12:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
assisted State Patrol.
4:12 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy was
called to some type of disturbance
in the parking lot at Caribou
Highlands.
4:39 p.m., Tofte: Suspicious activity
reported at Birch Grove School,
where a man was taking pictures.
8:42 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog
ran off from an East Fifth Street
residence about three hours ago.
Thursday, Oct. 19
11:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said his wife and son went canoeing
1½ hours ago and haven’t returned
yet.
1:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
assisted with the removal of two
boats from Extortion Lake. They are
now in USFS custody.
2:08 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance
called to the ski hill, where a 4-yearold hit her head and was bleeding.
2:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A box of
boat winterization equipment was
found on the road and will be kept
until/if the owner calls for it.
3:24 p.m., Lutsen: A 6-year-old
boy fell and hit his head at Lutsen
Mountains. The ambulance was
called.
5:15 p.m., Grand Marais: An
injured deer was in the ditch near
the water tower.
6:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost
wallet reported.

9:55 p.m., Hovland: A couple of
horses were running loose on
North Road.
10:13 p.m., Grand Marais: A
deer was struck by a vehicle at
mile marker 114 and needs to be
dispatched.
Friday, Oct. 20
2:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious
activity reported on West Second
Street.
8:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Some
cash was found at the Community
Center and will be held until/if the
owner calls.
9:01 a.m., Hovland: Traffic citation
issued.
10:17 a.m., Lutsen: Theft reported at
the Lutsen Mountain Shop.
12:27 p.m., Grand Portage: A van
went into the ditch off the highway,
and a tow truck is needed.
8:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
from East Highway 61 heard two
shots.
9:21 p.m., Grand Marais: A donkey
and a horse were out together near
Hedstrom’s Lumber.
Saturday, Oct. 21
6:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
9:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about two German shepherds on
Wahlstrom Road.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: A coat was
reported stolen from the YMCA.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious
activity reported.
9:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
9:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Caspers Hill.
Sunday, Oct. 22
1:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
from downtown said he heard a
man scream.
5:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Domestic
altercation reported.
8:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Pike Lake Road.
10:14 a.m., Grand Marais: An
individual was cited for stealing
copper from the construction site at
the hospital.
2:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
4:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Alarm was
going off at the courthouse.
