Saturday, Sept. 30
8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
12:16 p.m., Grand Marais: A bag of glass and debris was found
in front of Big Dollar.
2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:21 p.m., Grand Marais: A disturbance was reported at the Rec
Park after a group moved into another person’s camp site.
Sunday, Oct. 1
9:55 a.m., Hovland: Caller said an older Lincoln Town Car has
been parked by the bridge on Arrowhead Trail since yesterday.
10:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a drunk walking
around town.
8:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug information.
Monday, Oct. 2
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe Routes to
School.
8:01 a.m., Grand Portage: School zone patrol.
8:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Call regarding a vehicle that has been
parked at the lodge since August.
8:09 a.m., Grand Portage: Counterfeit bill received at the lodge.
2:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a cow on County Road 7.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
7:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a loose golden retriever on
Fifth Avenue West.
8:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are uncased
shotguns in a truck parked in front of the liquor store.
10:35 p.m., Grand Marais: A large black dog, “Valentine,” went
missing from a Birch Drive residence.
Tuesday, Oct. 3
5:11 a.m., Grand Marais: A little girl was at Holiday all by
herself, dressed in pajamas and a jacket.
7:31 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy participated in Safe Routes to School.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Fourth Avenue
West.
8:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Water was across the westbound lane
of County Road 7.
8:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Someone drove into the water in the
co-op lot, and got stuck.
11:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said her neighbor’s horses and
miniature donkey are on her property again.
11:56 a.m., Tofte: A hateful letter was found taped to a door on
West Highway 61.
1:50 p.m., Lutsen: A chocolate lab was hanging around
Honeymoon Trail, but the caller was unable to get him tied up.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Hunting accident and injury
reported.
4:51 p.m., Grand Portage: House fire on Townsite Road.
Wednesday, Oct. 4
1:08 p.m., Grand Marais: A fire alarm at East Bay Suites was set
off by burned toast.
2:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from County Road 6 said his
mailbox was damaged.
4:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Fake $20 bill received at the Rec Park.
7:24 p.m., Grand Marais: A camera was found at the water
tower.
8:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a student nearly shot
himself with a .22 while hunting this past weekend.
9:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
10:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a dog barking in
a car at Benny’s Collision Center, and there doesn’t seem to be
anybody there.
Thursday, Oct. 5
2:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance at Birchwood
Apartments.
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: A person wanted on a warrant turned
himself in.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: School bus stop arm violation
reported on Eighth Avenue West.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of auto parts reported.
4:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A suitcase was found on the Gunflint
Trail.
10:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at County
Road 7-Pike Lake Road.
Friday, Oct. 6
8:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone dumped a
bicycle in the hedges at Harbor View Apartments.
8:58 a.m., Tofte: A deer was struck by a vehicle on West
Highway 61.
12:04 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was found at the liquor store.
12:26 p.m., Grand Marais: A puppy was found at the Senior
Center.
2:12 p.m., Hovland: Suspicious activity reported on North
Road.
3:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage reported to a car
parked on East Fifth Street.
Saturday, Oct. 7
6:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a cow wandering on and
off County Road 7-Pike Lake Road.
3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a blue car in the ditch,
possibly stuck, off the Gunflint Trail near Northern Light Lake.
4:26 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller saw three juveniles enter the
burned residence on Townsite Road. They walked under the
Crime Scene tape.
4:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from County Road 14 heard
several shots fired for the past half-hour.
5:12 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is a big black mother bear
and a cub in Paradise Park, and there are kids nearby. The bears
are in a tree above a trailer.
6:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
7:07 p.m., Lutsen: A deer was struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 89.
8:28 p.m., Grand Marais: An Iowa van pulled into the Rec Park,
parked on the trail and was camping there.
8:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A small black dog, “Daisy,” went
missing from Linnell Road.
Sunday, Oct. 8
8:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a cow in the ditch
off County Road 7.
2:36 p.m., Lutsen: Grass fire on Lutsen Ski Hill Road.
3:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assisted a motorist with a flat
tire.
7:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported at Birchwood
Apartments.
7:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 97.
8:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Problem bear reported on Old Ski
Hill Road. Referred to the game warden.
9:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm was set off at Johnson’s
Foods.
