2:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from 14th Avenue West could
hear a car alarm going off, and no one was around.
7:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from the Gunflint Trail heard
a loud frying sound, and then the power went out. Now it is
back.
7:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Child protection issue.
8:01 a.m., Grand Portage and Grand Marais: School patrol.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is an elderly
woman walking on the street at East Second Street-First
Avenue East.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a camera case with a
battery and card in it at Judge Magney State Park.
3:07 p.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
3:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a suspicious red pick-up
truck on Townsite Road.
3:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe Routes
to School.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident at Lindskog
Road-East Highway 61, right in the middle of the highway.
4:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported suspicious activity
at Second Avenue East-East Fifth Street, where a vehicle was
stopped at the corner.
6:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A minivan was parked on the
highway in front of the bank.
9:11 p.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported.
11:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Drug investigation.
Tuesday, Sept. 19
11:26 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said her dog fell off a cliff.
11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Vandalism reported on Maple Hill
Drive; extra patrols requested.
12:04 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
3:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:46 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle struck a deer near Isak Hansen’s.
Wednesday, Sept. 20
8:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist with a
flat tire.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
3:25 p.m., Grand Portage: School patrol.
9:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of trespassing at the marina.
Thursday, Sept. 21
7:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
9:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance with traffic control
was requested on West Highway 61 when an oversize structure
was going to be moved. The whole road will be blocked.
10:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle that has been
parked behind the Grand Marais State Bank for weeks might
be stolen or abandoned.
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a large
vehicle parked near a corner, obstructing the view of motorists
trying to turn onto the highway.
4:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Pike Lake Road had a
friendly horse in his back yard.
4:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a suspicious white
van parked near the tennis courts.
5:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Motion detector activated at the
Great Hall.
Friday, Sept. 22
7:10 a.m., Grand Portage: Burglar alarm set off at the Housing
Authority building. Someone was there, but did not have the
correct code.
8:47 a.m., Tofte: Report of two trees down on the Sawbill Trail.
8:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller hit a deer on West Fifth Street,
causing minor damage to the vehicle.
9:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Two trees were down on the highway
near mile marker 100.
11:11 a.m., Grand Marais: A tree was hit by lightning and on
fire at Cascade Bluffs.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A child on a bicycle was struck by
a vehicle at Fifth Avenue West-West Fifth Street. No injuries
were reported.
8:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A moose was struck by a vehicle on
the Gunflint Trail near the moose viewing area. The vehicle is
disabled, and the moose is not well. There were no injuries to
people reported.
11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint from Devil Track
Campground.
Saturday, Sept. 23
2:39 a.m., Lutsen: Suspicious vehicle on Lodge Lane.
10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage to a vehicle
parked on First Avenue West.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said about 12 motorcycles
just went through the 40 mph zone on the Gunflint Trail at 60
mph.
3:29 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle parked near the donut
shop was damaged.
3:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint near North House
Folk School. A vehicle was parked along the yellow curb.
7:01 p.m., Grand Marais: A 3-year-old girl was found alone at
the school and brought inside.
10:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a suspicious man
hanging out in the employee parking area at the lodge since 3
or 4 this afternoon.
Sunday, Sept. 24
1:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he lost his hat and glasses
near Angry Trout yesterday.
4:57 p.m., Grand Portage: Motorist assist on the highway.
6:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dog running on the
highway.
7:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Fire alarm at the Community
Center.
8:24 p.m., Schroeder: A man was arrested for carrying
a firearm under the influence of alcohol at Temperance
River State Park after he was seen staggering around the
campground with a pistol on his belt.
8:54 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted motorists at mile marker 88.
