a vehicle parked at the Senior Center lot on Aug. 6 was
reported.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Scam phone call reported.
1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported.
4:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage reported on the
Gunflint Trail.
6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Extra patrols requested in the
vicinity of Norwester Lodge due to speeders.
10:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she had too much
to drink, and feels like she’s going to pass out.
Tuesday, Aug. 15
7:31 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle went into the ditch off
the highway at mile marker 103.
11:24 a.m., Schroeder: An abandoned vehicle was
discovered in a driveway on Beacon Hill Drive.
11:28 a.m., Tofte: There was an abandoned four-wheeler
behind the Search & Rescue building.
12:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller locked himself out of
his vehicle at Holiday.
7:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about four-wheelers
in the area of 11th Avenue West-West Second Street.
9:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on the Gunflint
Trail (again).
Wednesday, Aug. 16
9:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to the beach
near the Trading Post after a child fell off a bike and hit
his head.
10:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern
about the safety of a group of about 30 cross country
skaters traveling north on the Gunflint Trail.
11:28 a.m., Grand Marais: An animal bite victim was
treated at the hospital.
11:35 a.m., Grand Marais: A purse was left at Dairy
Queen.
1:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:46 p.m., Schroeder: False burglar alarm on Beacon Hill
Drive.
5:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.

4:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said someone is taking
buckets of red rock gravel out of the scenic area on East
Highway 61.
5:42 p.m., Lutsen: Power outage on Evergreen Road.
7:34 p.m., Lutsen: Gunshots heard on Caribou Trail.
8:04 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
8:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud party/music complaint
concerning a group at Kimball Lake Campground.
Saturday, Aug. 19
7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a blue backpack has
been left on a picnic table near Java Moose since about
5:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is some type
of large bird (possibly injured) in the traffic lane at mile
marker 96 causing traffic disruption.
10:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a large brown horse
on the highway near the Colvill Fire Department.
2:56 p.m., Grand Portage: A bear head was found in a
cooler at the wayside rest at Mount Josephine.
5:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing messages reported.
6:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a Cook County
warrant.
7:37 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found at Gene’s
Foods.
8:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was looking for a tan
Yeti cooler that contained bear meat and a bear hide. It
was lost somewhere between the Canadian border and
Duluth.
Sunday, Aug. 20
12:10 a.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found at Subway.
9:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:13 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
12:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a mailbox was left
hanging open in the post office, and the keys are still in
the lock. There is nobody around.
5:15 p.m., Tofte: Report of suspicious vehicles at the
airport.
10:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint about
the GunFlint Tavern.
10:35 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said a woman was walking
along the highway at mile marker 90 and she was hard to
see because she was wearing a black rain coat and had no
flashlight.
11:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from the Gunflint Trail
reported a strong smell of smoke, blowing in from the
north.
