Monday, Feb. 8
11:04 a.m., Tofte: Ambulance requested for a 42-year-old man who slipped and fell, injuring his knee and hip. Transported to the hospital.

6:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle.

11:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured near Cascade State Park.

Tuesday, Feb. 9
10:42 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to assist Border Patrol with a Canadian who had 4 grams of marijuana.

11:42 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to put down a wolf or coyote that was struck by a vehicle, just west of the casino.

2:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Business owner complained that a man often walks his dog to the parking lot, allows the dog to poop, then kicks the feces toward the restaurant.

10:27 p.m., Grand Portage: A Mille Lacs man was held at the border by Customs on outstanding warrants in Aitken and Pine counties.

Wednesday, Feb. 10
2:33 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy found a golden retriever near the bank downtown, and took it to the pound.

6:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck about a mile west of town on County Road 7. The animal was dead, and there was about $5,000 worth of damage done to the vehicle.

7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Grand Portage driver, 18, cited for speeding.

8:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Highway Department notified of a 2-foot drift that was blocking the westbound lane of the highway near Westerlind’s farm.

12:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a light blue sedan that was driving back and forth on County Road 7 in front of Birchwood, and up and down Eighth Avenue, revving its engine.

3:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that someone twisted the crosswalk sign on the southwest pole at the stoplight on Broadway. Public Utilities notified.

5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a garage door was open on an unoccupied house.

6:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that someone just stopped at his house, asking about carpet cleaning. A deputy checked the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle, described as an older model Volvo.

Thursday, Feb. 11
12:50 a.m., Grand Portage: Casino security requested assistance in handling an extremely intoxicated and uncooperative woman. She was finally talked out of the restroom and agreed to stay in her room at the lodge overnight. Human Services also assisted.

12:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of about a half-dozen kids smoking. A deputy brought four juveniles to the principal’s office.

2:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance requested for an adult man who passed out in the back of the lodge.

2:48 p.m., Grand Marais: White Bear Lake woman, 49, issued a citation for speeding.

3:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Rosemount man, 50, cited for no proof of insurance.

9:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Lutsen man, 49, cited for driving after cancellation.

Friday, Feb. 12
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and killed near County Rd 34.

11:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at the high school for a student who was getting out of hand.

1:30 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance requested for a woman, 43, with a possible concussion at Lutsen Mountains.

3:40 p.m., Grand Marais: The owner of a checkbook that was found in the courthouse parking lot was notified.

11:06 p.m., Grand Marais: The driver of the CCHS team bus reported that a vehicle just passed the bus on the right shoulder as they were stopped at the railroad tracks in Silver Bay.

Saturday, Feb. 13
10:27 a.m., Tofte: Ambulance and Search & Rescue assisted a woman, 35, with a possible broken arm and leg and concussion on the North Shore State Trail, just west of Temperance River Road.

2:31 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance requested for a man with a back injury at the ski hill.

6:01 p.m., Grand Portage: A man was arrested on a U.S. Marine Corps warrant for military desertion.

9:12 p.m., Tofte: Chateau Leveaux requested a deputy following a problem with three guests who were intoxicated and uncooperative. One man was taken to the hospital ER for a mental health and medication evaluation after a scuffle that resulted in a broken window. A St. Francis woman, 32, was arrested for interfering with a police officer, criminal damage to property, 5th degree possession of a controlled substance and a small amount of marijuana, and taken to the ER for mental health and medical evaluations, and was subsequently taken to detox in Duluth.

9:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance requested at the casino for a man, 28, who was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pain.

10:22 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance requested for a 15-year-old boy suffering from flu-like symptoms all day, and now has fainted. Transported to the hospital.

Sunday, Feb. 14
5:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Best Western reported that a fire alarm was going off, but they didn’t know why. A deputy and the fire department responded, but no fire was found.

5:23 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck near the Sea Villas.
