Monday, May 25

8:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of a blue/ green van speeding down the Gunflint Trail.

5:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious vehicle and driver on Kemo Cutoff near the lake. A deputy checked the area and all was okay.

5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious man walking on South Shore Drive. He was gone when a deputy checked the area; it was believed the man may have been camping nearby.

7:35 p.m., Grand Marais: A Budget rental truck was stuck in the outer drive-through at the credit union. There was minor damage to the building.

11:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Domestic assault reported.

Tuesday, May 26

1:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft from an unlocked parked vehicle at the Honeymoon Bluff parking lot on May 16. Missing was a camera bag containing two lenses and field glasses.

7:34 p.m., Schroeder: A semi was unhooked from its trailer on the highway, and was blocking part of the eastbound lane. The driver said there was nothing wrong — he wasn’t sure if the trailer would fit under the bridges at Tac Harbor.

9:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of 10 morphine pills.

Wednesday, May 27

2:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm at Holiday. The building was found to be secure.

2:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint at Go-Fer Cabins. All was quiet when a deputy arrived.

10:15 a.m., Grand Marais: A pair of eyeglasses in a case was turned in. The owner was contacted.

11:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to speak with a caller’s neighbor regarding complaints about putting in underground power lines.

7:27 p.m., Grand Portage: A complaint about a vehicle speeding past a Bay Road residence numerous times led to the arrest of a 19-yearold man on charges of assault on a police officer, fleeing a police officer on foot, use of force in obstructing the legal process, underage drinking, criminal damage to property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thursday, May 28

10:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of somebody burning garbage was investigated, and found to be true as there was a smoldering fire and smell of burnt garbage. A game warden and deputy will follow up.

Friday, May 29

6:05 a.m., Lutsen: Smoke and fire alarm at the utility shed at Cascade State Park.

6:00 p.m., Grand Portage: A LeSueur man and his daughter, ages 58 and 28, were charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and having a few fish over the limit. The pair was stopped by Customs at the border, and a further search was conducted after a loaded handgun was found.

8:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Complaint about speeding on the Bay Road. The driver was spoken to, and said she’ll obey the speed limit.

Saturday, May 30

2:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that the bartender at Windigo was physically preventing her and her boyfriend from leaving because they were too drunk to drive. Thecaller admitted to being too drunk, but said her boyfriend was okay.

11:02 p.m., Tofte: Reported theft of a cell phone from the bathroom building at Temperance River State Park.

Sunday, May 31 1:23 a.m., Lutsen: Loud music complaint.

10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: License plate found near the Lutheran Church.
