Monday, July 31
6:48 a.m., Hovland: Report of power lines down on Great Spirit
Road.
9:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about speeding in the area
of Bear Track Outfitting.
9:23 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was parked in the restricted
area at the fire hall.
10:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
10:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A Burmese mountain dog was found
and turned in at Trail Center. It looks like it’s been out in the
woods for a while.
11:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Attempted fraud/identity theft
reported.
1:21 p.m., Tofte: ATV trespassing reported.
2:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Cell phone theft reported at the donut
shop. No suspects.
2:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for driving after
revocation.
3:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender at the Senior Center.
7:11 p.m., Grand Marais: An alarm was set off at the Coast
Guard station.
7:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Six cows were on Highway 61 near
Fall River.

Tuesday, Aug. 1
8:50 a.m., Grand Portage: Security alarm was activated at the
credit union.
11:20 a.m., Grand Marais: A car was backed into at the
Laundromat on West Third Street.
11:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A Toyota key was found on the
highway near Rosebush Lane.
12:09 p.m., Grand Marais: A key fob marked “Girls Cabins”
was found and turned in at the Sheriff ’s Office.
2:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone threats reported.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about an unsafe ATV
driver with a small kid on the back, traveling on West Second
Street.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are a lot of people
and cars at Artist Point, honking and swearing at people.

Wednesday, Aug. 2
12:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is an odd man in a
red shirt hitchhiking at Cascade Lodge. He is yelling at cars as
they drive by.
2:40 p.m., Schroeder: Ambulance was called to Sawtooth
Harbor, where a 10-year-old boy fell from about 13 feet.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a logging truck headed
west from town looks like it has a loose log on it.
6:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious van parked
near the co-op.
7:09 p.m., Hovland: Illegal dumping reported at Whippoorwill
Lane.
7:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are three young boys
at Artist Point harassing tourists.
9:11 p.m., Lutsen: Suspicious activity reported at mile marker
93, where a car parked on the shoulder and a man ran across
the highway.

Thursday, Aug. 3
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller saw a wolf run across Highway
61 from Eighth Avenue West down into the Rec Park, with
what appeared to be a cat in its mouth.
8:02 a.m., Lutsen: Report of an individual trying to get into
parked vehicles at Lutsen Resort.
12:49 p.m., Hovland: Someone dumped medical waste on
private property.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: A parked vehicle was blocking the
door at the fire department.
8:17 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a man lying on the side of the
highway.

Friday, Aug. 4
11:34 a.m., Grand Portage: Stolen vehicle reported.
12:36 p.m., Hovland: Reported theft of materials at a building
site at Echo Woods.
2:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking citation issued on First
Avenue West.
3:27 p.m., Grand Portage: A black dog was running loose at the
national monument.
4:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Two explosions were heard in the
area of Wahlstrom Road-Hawk Lane.
8:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle damage reported.
8:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Citation issued for driving after
revocation.
9:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about people lighting off
fireworks at Artist Point.

Saturday, Aug. 5
12:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a strong smell of
marijuana was emanating from a vehicle parked at Artist Point.
1:04 a.m., Grand Marais: A dog was running loose near the
pharmacy.
3:23 a.m., Grand Marais: A guy requested to see a deputy,
claiming he was in a fight. There was no evidence of assault. He
had been removed from Grandma Ray’s earlier.
10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: A disturbance was reported at one
of the booths near Buck’s Hardware. The parties were separated
and the Lions were made aware of the situation.
12:45 p.m., Grand Marais: A three-legged husky was running
loose near IGA.
2:14 p.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a car on the
highway near Durfee Creek.
5:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for no proof of
insurance.
6:58 p.m., Grand Marais: A Yorkie was found and taken to the
dog pound.
8:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A bicycle was stolen from a
downtown location.
8:29 p.m., Lutsen: A sheltie bolted from Caribou Highlands
Lodge.
9:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Citation issued for no driver’s
license.
9:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A man with long red hair was
sitting on the side of County Road 6; the caller thought it was
suspicious.

Sunday, Aug. 6
3:11 a.m., Grand Marais: A suspicious man was in the parking
lot at the hospital, looking in vehicles and windows.
5:31 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was in the ditch off the
highway at mile marker 98. The door was locked, and there was
nobody around.
10:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Citation issued for speeding.
11:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Property damage reported on the
Superior Hiking Trail-Lindskog Road.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about people leaving
bags of garbage out on Brandon Lane, bringing bears around.
4:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance on Devil Track
Road.
9:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: The Johnson Heritage Post was
found to be unlocked.
