Monday, July 17
5:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s white husky ran off.
12:35 p.m., Schroeder: Trespasser seen at Minnesota
Power.
1:03 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a vehicle off the road,
referred to State Patrol.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle hit a parked car near
Sven & Ole’s.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious man
walking in and out of the woods off Cascade Beach
Road.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy removed a garbage can
from the highway at mile marker 101.
6:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a sinkhole
developing in the Artist Point parking lot.
9:41 p.m., Grand Marais: A basset hound went missing
from a County Road 14 residence.
Tuesday, July 18
5:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are traffic
cones “all over the road” on West Fifth Street.
7:28 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there are
two individuals hanging out at Ryden’s and acting
suspiciously, and he believes they may try to cross
illegally into Canada.
8:50 a.m., Grand Marais: A blue 18-speed bicycle was
found at the courthouse.
2:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint. There were
four vehicles parked in a No Parking zone in front of the
fire hall.
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: A pair of prescription
sunglasses was found in the Coast Guard parking lot.
7:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:50 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle hit a seagull near
Sven & Ole’s.
Wednesday, July 19
10:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off from Super
America.
12:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a guy in a
wheelchair in the middle of the intersection of West First
Street-Seventh Avenue West waving at passing cars.
4:40 p.m., Schroeder: A burglar alarm was set off at
Cross River Heritage Center.
5:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about constant
speeding in the area of Norwester Lodge.
8:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a person providing
alcohol to juveniles.
10:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Alarm set off at Arrowhead
Pharmacy.
Thursday, July 20
10:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black lab running
loose on Fifth Avenue West.
12:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of insulation in the
middle of the highway at mile marker 104. Referred to
MnDOT.
1:21 and 1:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citations issued
on the Gunflint Trail.
3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: A large black dog went missing
from a Birch Drive residence.
4:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a man was urinating
in the water at East Bay.
6:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
Friday, July 21
6:32 and 7:40 a.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citations
issued.
9:31 a.m., Grand Marais: A tree fell on a power line on
Devil Track Road and started a fire.
1:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a person
sitting on a four-wheeler outside My Sister’s Place, and
he’s (caller) not sure if the person is a valid driver yet.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there are four kids
fighting in front of the library.
2:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Higher Ed said
someone has been looking at porn sites on their public
computer.
3:58 p.m., Grand Portage: A wrong-turn driver was
stopped by Customs with 11 grams of marijuana and
seven pieces of marijuana edibles that are 18 grams.
7:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said two kids are
playing in the road at Casino Drive-Bay Estates Drive,
pulling up the tar.
Saturday, July 22
8:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a hole is forming on
Hungry Jack Road; the culvert appears to be collapsing.
9:21 a.m., Grand Marais: A 1-year-old German shepherd
ran off from a residence on South Gunflint Lake Road.
4:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a motorcycle
accident near the water tower.
4:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on South
Gunflint Lake.
10:47 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm on 11th
Avenue West.
11:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a man who
appears to be drunk walking in circles on Artist Point.
11:32 p.m., Schroeder: Truck in the ditch at mile marker
71, blocking a lane of traffic.
Sunday, July 23
9:05 a.m., Grand Marais: A golden retriever that was
running along the highway near Five Mile Rock was
picked up and taken to the pound.
11:40 a.m., Schroeder: A 13-year-old puggle ran off at
Temperance River State Park.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller found a lost 11-yearold on the Pincushion trails and will walk him out to the
parking lot.
5:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller locked his keys in his car
near the Beaver House.
11:32 p.m., Grand Marais: A phone was found at
Bluewater Café.
