Monday, July 3
12:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
from East Bay Suites regarding about 20
people on the beach near Stone Harbor
with a fire, and they are quite loud.
9:38 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Bluefin.
1:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy
assisted with a lockout.
1:16 p.m., Grand Marais: A woman’s
wallet was found near the Recycling
Center.
7:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from
Cascade River State Park was locked
out of her vehicle.
8:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.

Tuesday, July 4
1:04 a.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was
found near Artist Point.
1:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
reported that a young couple with a
7-week-old baby has been at the bar all
night, and they are worried about the
baby.
8:01 a.m., Grand Marais: A wallet
was found on the highway near Super
America.
9:04 a.m., Grand Marais: A semi struck
a deer on the highway near Gofer
Cabins. The semi did not stop and the
deer appears to be dead.
9:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
dead fawn on the highway, and cars are
swerving around it. Referred to State
Patrol.
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
reported suspicious activity at Murmur
Creek-Benedict Lane. There was an
ATV parked off the side of the road.
11:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
she lost a small wallet/clutch near
Skyport Lodge on Sunday.
12:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a
dead cat in the center turn lane of the
highway near Putt ’N Pets, and it keeps
getting run over by cars.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: An iPhone
was found near the bathroom at Iron
Lake campground.
1:31 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assisted with
traffic control for the parade.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage
on Pike Lake Road.
3:31 p.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit
$100 bill was received at the lodge.
5:53 p.m., Grand Portage: A dog was
found on Store Road.
9:26 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assisted with
traffic control for the fireworks.
10:01 p.m., Grand Portage: A person
involved in a two-vehicle accident on
Store Road needed medical assistance.
11:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said there are six females at a picnic
table near Shoreline Motel with a lot
of alcohol, and they are causing a
disturbance.

11:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about people lighting off fireworks on
the beach across from Java Moose.
11:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said there is a strong odor of propane
coming from a propane truck that is
parked near Gene’s Way.

Wednesday, July 5
1:06 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller
said four juveniles were in his house
drinking his beer when he got home.
His son and a friend took off, but two
others are still there.
1:26 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a
man on the ground near Holy Rosary
Church.
5:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from
West Fifth Street said there is a vehicle
with someone sleeping in it in her
driveway.
9:43 a.m., Grand Marais: A lightning
strike caused a phone outage on the
Gunflint Trail.
9:55 a.m., Hovland: Tree down and
blocking the highway at mile marker
128.
10:13 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a dog left in a parked car near the
chiropractor’s office for at least 40
minutes, and it is starting to get warm.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
two dogs running loose at Linnell
Road-East Highway 61, causing a
traffic hazard.
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: A little black
terrier was running loose near Blue
Water Café.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
from Rosebush Hill said a neighbor
threatened to shoot her dog.
7:17 p.m., Grand Marais: A combative
guest at Harbor Inn had to be kicked
out.
10:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Fireworks
complaint on Grace Drive.
10:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Campers
at Cascade River State Park said they
heard a single gunshot.

Thursday, July 6
8:35 a.m., Grand Marais: A Canadian
driver’s license was found in town and
dropped off at the Law Enforcement
Center.
3:19 p.m., Grand Marais: A set of keys
was found at the Trading Post.
4:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Power
outages reported on Devil Track Road
and White Sky Trail.
7:38 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was
found at Blue Water Café.

Friday, July 7
7:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage
on County Road 7.
8:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar
alarm at Sven & Ole’s.

12:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
received about a large truck loading
and unloading trailers at West Fifth
Street-Eighth Avenue West, creating a
lot of noise. It has been happening the
entire summer.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about someone driving an ATV in the
alley behind East Bay Suites several
times today at a high rate of speed.
1:13 p.m., Lutsen: Residential burglar
alarm was false.

Saturday, July 8
12:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint
about a loud party and bonfire
between East Bay Suites and Best
Western.
8:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar
alarm at Benny’s Collision.
11:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking
complaint from the co-op, where
vehicles were parked on the dunes
behind the building.
12:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of
packages reported from a residence,
where UPS and FedEx had delivered
them.
2:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking
complaint at Artist Point, where a
vehicle was blocking a fire hydrant
and a boat landing.
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking
complaint in the alley behind Joynes;
the caller’s car was blocked in.
3:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Minor
accident reported at the Rec Park.
9:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from
Mile O’ Pine could see smoke off to
the northwest. It is slightly bigger than
a campfire, but smaller than a house
fire.

Sunday, July 9
1:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud party
complaint from the Rec Park.
7:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Illegal
dumping of trash on the beach
reported.
8:46 a.m., Tofte: Report of a vehicle in
the ditch off the Grade.
9:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential
burglar alarm on East Bearskin Road.
11:32 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Bluefin Bay.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a
husky is running down the highway at
mile marker 111, dodging cars.
8:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made
for fifth-degree possession.
11:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud party
complaint from East Bay Suites.
11:43 p.m., Lutsen: Report of four
young people riding bikes on the
highway unsafely.
11:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Walter Road.
