Monday, May 22
3:23 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a tree down across
the eastbound lane of the highway. State Patrol was
notified.
8:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
8:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Scam attempt reported.
8:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he cut his hand and
needs help. Medical personnel were dispatched.
9:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the three-legged
husky was running on the highway in front of the post
office.
11:09 a.m., Grand Marais: A tree was removed from Ball
Club Road.
11:19 a.m., Grand Portage: Threats reported.
12:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the high
school, where a student had contraband.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:20 p.m., Hovland: Report of four people illegally
cutting birch trees on Tom Lake Road.
2:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for drug
possession.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: False alarm at Cascade State
Park.
Tuesday, May 23
8:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint from
Birchwood Apartments.
9:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance at Pine
Mountain Trailer Court.
3:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
3:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Garage door siding was
damaged by the Search & Rescue vehicle responding to
a call.
8:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured deer on
the highway near Kah-Nee-Tah Gallery.
Wednesday, May 24
8:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing reported.
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle stuck in
the ditch off County Road 60.
1:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in DARE
graduation.
3:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from East Highway 61
said there is a big black-and-white dog at her house.
6:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Break-in and theft from a
storage building on Little Ollie Road reported.
10:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, May 25
12:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a loud group of
people outside Harbor Inn, possibly an altercation.
10:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported
on Thompson Park Drive.
12:07 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a stolen bicycle
from Townsite Road.
7:38 p.m., Hovland: Caller said the propane delivery
truck is overdue by 1½ hours.
9:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Camper from Banadad Lake
said someone across the lake is yelling for help.
Friday, May 26
7:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Pine Mountain
Court said bears are getting into the trash and scattering
it all over.
9:52 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is evidence of a
bonfire at the Mississippi Creek pit – trash and beer
cans.
11:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to remove
an unwanted person from a residence.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was locked out of his
vehicle at Paradise Beach. CC Towing was contacted.
5:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a purse with
an iPad and wallet inside at West Third Street, and no
one has been around for at least 45 minutes.
6:46 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
8:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to check on a
couple kids in a tree near the library.
10:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Cascade
Beach Road.
Saturday, May 27
1:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a person shouting in
a room at Solbakken Motel.
2:32 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off.
2:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Poplar Creek Drive
said she started a fire in the fire pit and it started the
trees on fire. It is out now, she thinks.
6:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
7:01 p.m., Grand Portage: A driver swerved to miss a
deer and hit the guard rail at mile marker 147.
8:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
9:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about two young
males riding ATVs up and down Second Street West.
Sunday, May 28
12:41 a.m., Schroeder: Complaint about a loud group
partying at Lamb’s Resort.
8:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a strong smell of
propane in St. John’s church.
1:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments complained about the strong smell of cat
urine from the apartment below.
5:32 p.m., Hovland: Report of a suspicious vehicle
parked behind the Town Hall.
6:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint of a loud party at
the Flour Lake Campground.
7:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a loud
disturbance on Cascade Beach Road.
9:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 103. The license plate was found on the roadway.
10:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Harassment reported at the
C-store, where the caller had another person blocked in
and wouldn’t let him leave the parking lot.
