Monday, May 1
1:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Cutoff
Road.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
12:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol
with a traffic stop.
4:32 p.m., Grand Portage: Power outage on East
Highway 61.
5:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a domestic
argument. No arrests were made.
6:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black-and-white
cocker spaniel wandering around the parking lot at
the YMCA.
Tuesday, May 2
7:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
11:30 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assisted with
Project Lifesaver.
2:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a couple four-wheelers and kids at a residence that should be
unoccupied.
3:04 p.m., Grand Marais: ATVers who were
trespassing on private property on Nelson Trail were
warned not to trespass.
3:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
10:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer-car collision on the
highway near Isak Hansen.
11:10 p.m., Grand Marais: False burglar alarm on
South Broadway.
Wednesday, May 3
7:54 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
12:14 p.m., Grand Marais: A 1-year-old Brittany dog
ran off from a County Road 14 residence.
4:18 p.m., Grand Marais: An iPhone was found on
the beach in Grand Marais. The owner was located by
using the phone to call “Mom.”
Thursday, May 4
5:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his truck was
stolen last night by his sister. The vehicle was later
found, and the owner rescinded the report.
9:00 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported a lost
iPhone, probably at the Community Center.
10:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Investigation into missing
lottery tickets that were allegedly delivered to Holiday.
6:35 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made on charges of
domestic assault.
Friday, May 5
8:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said some renters left
drug-related items behind, which were found by the
handyman.
12:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an older black
Lab walking eastbound on the highway near mile
marker 113.
6:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Roman’s
Road.
Saturday, May 6
4:40 a.m., Grand Portage: The owner of a golden
retriever that was running loose in the casino
campground was contacted.
4:43 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a dead deer on
the highway near mile marker 145.
6:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two horses loose
on County Road 7.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Washout
Road.
12:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a Cook
County warrant.
12:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Probation violation.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a single-axle trailer.
3:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A large popple tree brought
down power lines on Pine Marten Way.
7:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
8:10 p.m., Lutsen: A beagle wandered off from the Sea
Villas.
8:34 p.m., Lutsen: Attempted phone fraud reported.
11:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity
reported on Upper Road, where a white car was
stopped in the middle of the road with its flashers on,
and no one inside.
Sunday, May 7
10:05 a.m., Tofte: Report that the well pipe behind the
bank is flowing.
2:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Shoplifting reported at
Super America.
3:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A calf got out of its fence
and was loose on County Road 7.
4:50 p.m., Grand Marais: The back window was
smashed out of a vehicle parked on Harbor View
Trail.
6:24 p.m., Tofte: Speeding citation issued.
6:26 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog that was running
loose on Artist Point was picked up.
7:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he has seen a
fox with an injured rear leg hanging out along East
Highway 61. He was worried it might be a hazard.
8:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost wedding
ring on the beach at the Rec Park.
