7:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost set of car keys.
7:29 a.m., Hovland: Reported theft of 24 batteries from
property on Camp 20 Road. The batteries were dead and
were going to be turned in as cores.
8:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Trespassing reported at
Birchwood Apartments.
9:26 a.m., Hovland: Illegal dumping reported.
4:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller was having trouble with
a 14-year-old child and wanted to speak with a deputy.
4:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from the liquor store
said a drunk male driver just left there.
8:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller wanted to speak with a
game warden regarding issues with an aggressive wolf.
10:33 p.m., Grand Portage: Dog bite victim reported the
incident, which occurred on April 6.
Tuesday, April 25
7:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the high
school to speak with an uncooperative 16-year-old.
12:13 p.m., Lutsen: Domestic disturbance.
3:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was hit by a small
passenger car at County Road 7-Nicole Kristine Lane.
7:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to dispatch
an injured deer on the highway at mile marker 114.
10:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a large birch tree
covering the roadway at Devil Track Road-County Road

Wednesday, April 26
10:10 a.m., Lutsen: A tree was down and partially
blocking the Caribou Trail.
1:25 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller complained of a large
bear in the area of Elder Housing.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail, just before Lullaby Creek.
2:01 p.m., Grand Marais: A motorist got stuck on
Clearwater Road and requested a tow truck.
2:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a phone pole
snapped on the Gunflint Trail. CenturyLink was notified.
2:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove
an unwanted person from a residence.
4:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the three-legged
husky is walking in the alley behind SA and is all bloody.
4:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on West First
Street.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Attempted credit card fraud
reported.
5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail.
Thursday, April 27
5:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to remove an
unwanted person from a residence.
7:47 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
11:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s large white
Pomeranian was missing.
8:19 p.m., Hovland: Caller said she was having trouble
with her WiFi, and wanted to know if others were having
the same issues.
9:31 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a bear roaming in the area
of Eagle Ridge.
Friday, April 28
7:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller found an approximately
3-year-old girl walking by herself at Fifth Avenue West-
West Fifth Street, who said she was on her way to the
park at the Community Center.
4:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a door on a storage
unit across from the old Harbor Light has been open
since Tuesday, and there’s nobody around. Also, a truck
has been parked there since Monday.
5:51 p.m., Grand Marais: A black and gray “Eukanuba”
bag was lost somewhere in town.
6:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a person is walking
eastbound on the highway near Buck’s, drinking beer.
7:55 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, April 29
10:33 a.m., Grand Portage: A wrong-turn Canadian
driver was arrested for possession of a controlled
substance.
1:59 p.m., Hovland: Caller heard a shot, and then felt the
sensation of a bullet go past him.
6:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a white pick-up truck
hot-rodding around town.
6:52 p.m., Hovland: Report of graffiti.
Sunday, April 30
11:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from County Road 56
said a vehicle just drove through his hayfield, causing
quite a bit of damage, and is now parked a couple
hundred feet past his property. Nobody is around.
5:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he just saw an
individual drive by who has a warrant out for his arrest.
7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Pike Lake Road
said she, her husband and their German shepherd got
lost on their hike and ended up farther away than they
planned. They requested assistance in getting back to
Cascade Lodge.
9:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a suspicious
vehicle with Illinois plates driving up and down East
Fifth Street.
9:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Eighth Avenue
West said her 13-year-old son is acting up; he could be
heard yelling in the background.
10:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle struck a deer on the
highway at Cutface. No injuries reported.
