Monday, March 27
3:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Devil Track
Road had a male golden doodle, almost white but
some gold, in his yard.
6:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost vehicle
key on Eagle Mountain Trail.
11:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two pick-up
trucks running around the Rec Park, stopping at a
couple campers. It seems suspicious.
Tuesday, March 28
1:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of stolen
medications.
3:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found at
Holiday.
4:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Scam phone call reported.
4:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic altercation
reported.
5:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a vehicle
speeding up and down Margaret’s Road.
7:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
Wednesday, March 29
10:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious
vehicle and driver parked on Cedar Grove Lane.
10:31 a.m., Grand Marais: A person reported that the
plaques have been stolen from all of the park benches
within the city.
1:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint reported.
8:02 p.m., Grand Marais: A pick-up was stuck in the
snow at East Twin Lake Campground, and needed to
be pulled out.
Thursday, March 30
8:14 a.m., Grand Marais: A dog got off its leash on
West Fifth Street.
10:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a disabled vehicle
on the Gunflint Trail, near the Washington Pines,
creating a hazard.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Terroristic threats reported.
Friday, March 31
12:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy removed a dead
deer from the highway at mile marker 142.
10:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Gunflint Lodge
said his dog ran off, and may have gotten into a light
blue sedan that drove off. It is a large black Lab that
answers to “Hank.”
1:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a pick-up with a
four-wheeler in back that has been parked overnight
on West Third Street. The caller thought it was odd.
4:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol
with a traffic stop.
4:28 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller from Elder housing
said there is a big wolf hanging around, and she is
concerned for the children playing outside.
8:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of pick-ups roaring
around the campground.
9:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, April 1
1:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol
on a traffic stop.
8:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a driver speeding
and driving erratically near the Rock Cut was referred
to State Patrol.
1:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Two cats ran off from GoFer
Trailer Court – a big black cat, and a small white cat.
2:42 p.m., Hovland: Phone outage reported.
3:52 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller from the
Community Center heard a single gunshot, and it
sounded very close.
4:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A small purse was left at the
Trading Post.
5:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a large dark-colored SUV passed her on the Gunflint Trail in the
No Passing zone, and turned up Cutoff Road.
5:37 p.m., Grand Marais: A license plate that was
found on the roadway was turned in at the Law
Enforcement Center. The owner was contacted.
6:46 p.m., Tofte: A vehicle was stuck on Honeymoon
Trail.
9:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
9:27 p.m., Hovland: A motorist on Camp 20 Road
said he just needed directions, and refused help. He
just needed to know which way he was going.
Sunday, April 2
9:45 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a 45-year-old man with a broken leg.
10:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from the Gunflint
Trail wanted the phone number for Animal
Advocates. There was a big black German shepherd-looking dog in his yard.
11:03 a.m., Lutsen: A deer was struck by a vehicle on
the highway near Caribou Trail.
2:57 p.m., Lutsen: Report that a dog is in a vehicle
parked at Lutsen Mountains with the windows rolled
up. The dog has been in there for at least an hour, and
is panting.
