Monday, Feb. 20
12:35 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
1:03 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there is an
elderly woman on the side of the highway at mile
marker 142 whose vehicle broke down, and she
refuses to leave it.
8:50 a.m., Grand Marais: False burglar alarm.
9:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:51 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
3:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle accident at
Highway 61-First Avenue West.
3:43 p.m., Grand Portage: A counterfeit $100 bill
was found at the lodge.
7:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious vehicle
reported at Holiday.
7:57 p.m., Grand Marais: A complaint was
received about a tow truck speeding and traveling
erratically on the highway.
9:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said water is
draining off the Greenwood Lake Road and
flooding the Gunflint Trail.
10:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of extremely
high water in the co-op parking lot, and possible
flooding in the blacksmith shop.
Tuesday, Feb. 21
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a vehicle in
the ditch off Highway 61.
8:42 a.m., Lutsen: Dead deer on the highway at
mile marker 90.
8:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of “pretty deep”
water on County Roads 44 and 7.
4:09 p.m., Lutsen: Commercial fire alarm.
8:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:19 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said a fox needed to be
dispatched at Lockport.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
6:54 a.m., Tofte: Report of a dead deer on the side
of the highway at mile marker 83.
8:31 a.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch near
Superior National Golf Course. There were three
people in the vehicle; no injuries reported.
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Attempted e-mail fraud
reported.
6:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint from
Birchwood Apartments, where a resident was
yelling and swearing loudly for some time.
9:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments said there are people in a vehicle in
the parking lot smoking pot.
Thursday, Feb. 23
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:37 a.m., Grand Portage: Ambulance called to
transport a dead body.
1:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Phone fraud reported.
6:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an injured
deer near mile marker 114.
9:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State
Patrol.
Friday, Feb. 24
3:50 a.m., Grand Marais: False motion alarm at
Super America.
8:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer in
the traffic lane at mile marker 112.
9:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Unwanted junk was
dropped off outside the door at Oddz & Endz,
including a refrigerator and couch.
9:26 a.m., Lutsen: A strange package was received
at the Lutsen post office, and a deputy was
requested to stop by.
1:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in
a DARE program.
3:04 p.m., Lutsen: Dead deer at mile marker 93.
6:20 p.m., Lutsen: Two-vehicle accident on the
Caribou Trail.
11:51 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
It was unknown what set the alarm off.
Saturday, Feb. 25
8:57 a.m., Lutsen: Caller from the Sea Villas said
there is a deer stumbling around in the woods,
and was advised there is nothing officers can do –
let nature take its course.
11:18 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski
hill for a 34-year-old woman with a broken wrist.
11:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments said a neighbor has been smoking
pot for the last two days, and it’s affecting her
breathing.
3:15 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
3:40 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
Sunday, Feb. 26
2:47 a.m., Schroeder: Car in the ditch on the lake
side of the highway just west of Satellite’s.
8:38 a.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
9:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding complaint
about a dark pick-up truck going 60 mph past
Trail Center.
1:06 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
1:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported.
