Monday, Jan. 30

6:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a van speeding
on the Gunflint Trail in the area of Trail Center
(approximately 50 mph) while the dog race was going
on.
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
10:16 a.m., Schroeder: Motorist assist.
4:40 p.m., Tofte: Logging truck driver expressed
concern about the slippery conditions on the Sawbill
Trail and requested that the road be sanded.
4:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Public assist.
8:45 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a vehicle stopped on the
roadside of Highway 61.
8:48 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said there is snow on the Ski
Hill Road and he cannot get to Eagle Ridge.

Tuesday, Jan. 31

1:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy checked on a person
who was walking on the side of Greenwood Road.
3:30 a.m., Grand Marais: A report of suspicious
activity at Big Dollar turned out to be an employee at
the store.
7:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
7:43 a.m., Schroeder: Deer struck and injured at mile
marker 80.
9:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller requested sanding at
Fifth Avenue West-West Fifth Street due to slippery
road conditions.
9:39 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy checked on a
van with no plates that was left near Grand Marais
Pharmacy.
10:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Public assist.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the sled dog
crossing signs at Devil Track Road do not give enough
warning.
11:53 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in a
DARE program.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Woman arrested on an
outstanding Cook County warrant after turning
herself in at the Law Enforcement Center.
3:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Safe Routes to School.
4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was found at Golden
Eagle Lodge.

Wednesday, Feb. 1

5:16 a.m., Grand Portage: False fire alarm on Mile
Creek Road.
7:55 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol
with a traffic stop on Highway 61.
8:37 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle that has been left
in the City Hall parking lot for an extended time will
be towed if the owner cannot be contacted.
2:49 p.m., Grand Marais: A stray cat was found on
First Avenue West.
3:11 p.m., Grand Marais: False hold-up alarm
received from the liquor store.
3:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for domestic
assault.
5:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Threats reported.

Thursday, Feb. 2

7:55 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
10:01 a.m., Schroeder: Deputy assisted a driver with
vehicle trouble near Lamb’s Campground.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Attempted burglary
reported.
10:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for domestic
assault.

Friday, Feb. 3

8:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious
vehicle on a driveway during the day when the
residents are at work.
1:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller on County Road 56
said a dozen eggs were thrown into his mailbox.

Saturday, Feb. 4

1:09 a.m., Schroeder: Deputy assisted State Patrol.
9:21 a.m., Hovland: Power outage on Chicago Bay
Road.
1:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle traffic accident
at Gunflint Trail-Fifth Avenue West.
2:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle rollover at the scene
of the above accident.
2:39 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and injured by a
vehicle near Hansen’s.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle struck a guard rail at
Highway 61-Hall Road.
4:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible structure fire
reported on the Gunflint Trail.
5:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at
Gunflint Trail-School House Road.

Sunday, Feb. 5

7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a stolen personal
locator beacon was going off. However, it could not be
located.
1:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle rolled over into the
ditch off Pike Lake Road.
