Monday, Jan. 23

5:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a deer on the
upper side of the highway, lying down by the fog line
near mile marker 102.
7:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer on the
highway creating a traffic hazard.
8:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck on the highway
at mile marker 113.
10:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost credit card reported.
1:54 p.m., Hovland: Driver said he was almost run off
the road by a semi.
2:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible burglary reported.
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she picked up a
dog that was running on the highway.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

2:08 a.m., Hovland: False alarm.
2:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy checked on a van
with its rear door open at East Bay.
7:22 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy participated in Safe Routes
to School.
11:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in a
DARE program at the school.
2:17 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made for trespassing.
3:38 p.m. Grand Marais: Deer struck at mile marker
118.
9:33 p.m., Grand Portage: A deputy was called to
resolve a disturbance regarding a parking dispute.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

7:53 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
9:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two dogs running
at Highway 61-County Road 7.
4:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of stolen items from
a garage on West Fourth Street.

Thursday, Jan. 26

6:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist
with a flat tire.
8:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle went
through the crossing guard flag at the high school.
8:22 a.m., Schroeder: Caller said there are lights on in
a house that should be closed up for the season and
requested that a deputy check on it.
9:31 a.m., Grand Portage: A vehicle hit and broke a
gate at the national monument.
10:31 a.m., Grand Portage: False fire alarm on Upper
Road.
11:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of icy dangerous
conditions on the Gunflint Trail.
11:49 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
2:18 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller’s dog ran away last
night.
2:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of an unlicensed
driver driving.
3:29 p.m., Grand Marais: A gray-and-white cat walked
off from its Fifth Avenue West residence. He was
wearing a red harness.

Friday, Jan. 27

9:09 a.m., Grand Marais: A brown-and-white husky
mix, “Koda,” ran off from an East Highway 61
residence. He is not necessarily friendly to strangers.
4:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
4:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported burglary at the
Laundromat sometime last night.
6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s cat that wandered
off last week has not returned yet.
7:35 p.m., Grand Portage: False security alarm at
Health Services.
8:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist
at Highway 61-County Road 7.
8:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted State Patrol
on a traffic stop.
9:42 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted State Patrol on a
traffic stop.
11:45 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.

Saturday, Jan. 28

1:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy put down an injured
deer on the highway.
12:36 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill
for a 61-year-old woman with an ankle injury.
3:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to assist a
dog truck on the highway in Lake County.
4:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
4:57 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
10:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she needed
assistance in searching for her daughter.

Sunday, Jan. 29

11:14 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller reported problems
with his off-peak power.
11:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
5:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible frozen sewer line
near the Trading Post.
6:31 p.m., Grand Portage: Automated fire alarm
sounded at the Community Center.
