Monday, Jan. 16
1:30 a.m., Grand Portage: Call received regarding an
unwanted person who was asked to leave.
1:49 a.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported at the
lodge.
8:41 a.m., Grand Marais: A dog ran off from a First
Avenue West residence.
9:47 a.m., Grand Marais: A Newfoundland dog was
found in a yard on Kelly’s Hill.
11:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an intoxicated
driver at the co-op.
4:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a vehicle
parked in the city lot with expired tabs (July 2016),
front passenger side tire is flat (the tire is a donut),
and the right rear window is broken out.
6:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer on the
highway at mile marker 95.
Tuesday, Jan. 17
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
10:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic assault reported.
11:37 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
3:24 p.m., Grand Portage: A vehicle was stuck on the
snowmobile trail off Joe’s Road.
7:58 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to
remove an unwanted person from a residence.
Wednesday, Jan. 18
7:56 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
1:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Marijuana was found and
turned in to law enforcement.
1:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a pig was just
in his front yard and ran across the street and up
Chippewa Cemetery trail.
4:27 p.m., Tofte: Report of a light-colored dog
running on the highway.
Thursday, Jan. 19
7:58 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
4:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Someone found a backpack
while snowmobiling and dropped it off.
5:57 p.m., Hovland: False fire alarm.
7:56 p.m., Tofte: A false alarm was received from
Bluefin, apparently caused by a faulty system.
9:32 p.m., Lutsen: Threats reported.
Friday, Jan. 20
12:41 a.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made on a Carlton
County warrant.
9:06 a.m., Tofte: Report of a deer with a broken leg on
the shoulder of the Sawbill Trail.
12:00 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made for
trespassing and assault.
1:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in a
DARE program.
7:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of very slippery
conditions on the Gunflint Trail.
7:23 p.m., Schroeder: Report of water on the roadway
at mile marker 77.
7:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the water is
building up on First Avenue near the Trading Post.
8:51 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was stuck in the
middle of County Road 6.
10:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of very icy
conditions on the highway near Lindskog Road. The
highway department was notified.
Saturday, Jan. 21
1:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the Gunflint Trail
is being blocked by a vehicle pulling snowmobiles that
has stopped in the lane of traffic.
9:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Two dogs were picked up on
the Gunflint Trail and taken home to their owners.
4:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Wallet theft reported at the
YMCA.
4:58 p.m., Grand Marais: A credit card that was found
at Devil’s Kettle was turned in.
Sunday, Jan. 22
8:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:55 a.m., Lutsen: A guy came into Clearview
General Store without shoes on, and was inside for
about 15 minutes.
4:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to North
House Folk School after a person smashed his thumb
and fainted.
7:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on two
Wisconsin warrants.
