Monday, Nov. 14
2:36 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
7:29 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy participated in Safe Routes to
School.
10:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible fraud reported.
10:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking citation issued on Fifth
Avenue.
10:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said an SUV drove slowly
by his house on Eighth Avenue West, and dropped an iPod
out the window.
9:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Tuesday, Nov. 15
7:29 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy participated in Safe Routes to
School.
9:37 a.m., Tofte: Report of an erratic driver near mile
marker 83.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:22 p.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 136.
4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a driver traveling east
out of town with a 2-year-old in the back seat who is not
buckled in.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: A black-and-white Lab puppy was
found near Dairy Queen.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
10:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a three-legged dog is
running around the playground at the high school. It is not
bothering anyone, but the caller is concerned.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a semi hotrodding on the highway. It is white with a big P on it.
6:11 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
9:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Harbor View Trail is
locked out and cold.
11:21 p.m., Grand Marais: A yellow Lab, “Sancho,” has been
missing from East Fifth Street for about half an hour now.
Thursday, Nov. 17
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer-car accident at mile marker
123.
3:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A storage locker was broken into.
It’s unsure what was taken.
7:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from East Fifth Street said
Sancho is missing again, and people are out looking for him.
7:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug investigation.
9:13 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
Friday, Nov. 18
11:45 a.m., Hovland: Harassment reported.
12:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Someone ran into the smoking
stand at South of the Border and hit the building.
12:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle off the highway at mile
marker 119. No injuries reported.
1:15 p.m., Schroeder: Vehicle in the ditch at mile marker 72.
1:15 p.m., Tofte: Vehicle in the ditch at Smokey’s grave. No
injuries reported, and a tow truck was contacted.
1:49 p.m., Grand Marais: An older golden retriever was
running loose near Grand Marais Motors.
2:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy removed a tree from
County Road 60.
3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down and blocking Old Ski
Hill Road.
3:48 p.m., Grand Marais: A tree fell on and damaged a car
near North House Folk School.
4:13 p.m., Grand Marais: A pick-up truck was struck by a
falling tree.
4:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A large tree was blocking all of
the highway at mile marker 101. Other downed trees were
reported on the Arrowhead Trail, County Road 60, West
Fifth Street, County Road 14, Lindskog Road and elsewhere
on Highway 61 throughout the afternoon.
5:21 p.m., Hovland: Caller said a bus passed him in a no
passing zone and forced him onto the shoulder.
6:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of very icy conditions on
the Gunflint Trail.
6:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Seventh Avenue West
reported a Newfoundland dog outside barking, and was
worried about its welfare.
7:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Old Shore Road
and Fifth Avenue West.
9:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Power lines on fire.
Saturday, Nov. 19
9:58 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Morgan Lane
for the past 10 hours. There is a tree on the power line and
another wire on the ground.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: No power outage, but there is a big
tree on the power line on County Road 60.
11:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Pick-up in the ditch off the
Gunflint Trail near Northern Light Lake.
3:16 p.m., Schroeder: Multiple citations were issued for
trespassing at the Cliffs property.
3:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a woman who
was accosting customers at IGA.
Sunday, Nov. 20
7:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a power line was
pulled away from a house and dangling, but the power was
still on.
11:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:34 a.m., Grand Marais: A station wagon rolled over on
County Road 60. No one was around.
11:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:14 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
2:41 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made on a Carlton County
warrant.
3:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Street department notified that
Seventh Avenue East is glare ice and needs sand.
3:40 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
7:08 p.m., Grand Marais: The sheriff’s department was
notified that a drone will be used for filming around town
Monday. All necessary permits have been filed.
8:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured on
County Road 7.
9:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for DWI.
