Monday, Oct. 10
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe Routes
to School.
8:00 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller on the Gunflint Trail said
there are three individuals unloading long boards at the top
of the hill.
10:53 a.m., Grand Marais: A set of house keys on a chain
that says “Patrick” was left at the donut shop.
12:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that a logging
truck was driving on Eighth Avenue West again.
1:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Cows out on Fall River Road.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: A mauve purse was found in Bear
Tree Park.
4:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a missing Duluth
Pack tote. It was either lost or taken from her vehicle.
5:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Attempted fraud reported.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: A set of keys and glasses were
found at Kadunce River wayside.
5:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at mile
marker 98.
5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost his wallet, either at the
dog park or at Pincushion.
8:18 p.m., Grand Portage: Speeding citation issued.
10:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a car has been parked
outside the co-op with the engine running for at least 20
minutes.
Tuesday, Oct. 11
6:55 a.m., Tofte: Report of an erratic driver on the highway.
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe Routes
to School.
1:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in DARE at
Great Expectations School.
Wednesday, Oct. 12
1:24 a.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle stalled out near Paradise
Beach while trying to avoid a deer.
6:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a couple trees down on
County Road 14, not blocking the entire road.
8:33 a.m., Grand Marais: A medium-sized cream-colored
dog was found at the Rec Park and put in the pound.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he lost $95 today.
2:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle has been
parked at the Kekekabic trailhead for about a month.
6:44 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle backed into the ditch on
the Gunflint Trail. The driver may have been trying to back
into a driveway.
9:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a vehicle
heading toward town with no tail lights, and a strong odor
of marijuana.
Thursday, Oct. 13
12:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a bear in the
campground at Magney State Park.
1:11 a.m., Lutsen: Power outage on South Caribou Drive.
8:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage reported to a
vehicle parked overnight on First Avenue East.
9:14 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted State Patrol after a vehicle
struck a deer at mile marker 91.
10:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with the
dispatching of a deer near Rosebush Lane.
4:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller’s old black dog, “Iggy,” ran
off from Mineral Center Road.
6:52 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assisted with a drunk driver near
Tofte Homestead Drive.
Friday, Oct. 14
12:08 a.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
8:22 a.m., Grand Portage: Somebody found and turned in a
new Xbox 360 at the lodge.
8:33 a.m., Hovland: Caller from Black Granite Trail just
heard a loud boom.
9:42 a.m., Schroeder: A set of ramps was lost off a trailer
somewhere between Tofte and Schroeder.
9:43 a.m., Tofte: A campaign sign was stolen from Sawbill
Trail.
12:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller believes he and his wife
may have been given tainted food at a local restaurant. They
were both sick.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of ATVs driving on the
state trails off Murmur Creek Road.
2:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Speeding citation issued.
7:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was scared because
a suspicious man stopped her outside her house and asked
her if someone lived there.
Saturday, Oct. 15
5:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a stolen vehicle was
unfounded.
5:41 a.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm at Cobblestone
Cove.
9:55 a.m., Schroeder: Trespassing reported.
12:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Seagull Lake
reported suspicious activity after someone in a red Jeep
pulled into a driveway a few times today.
6:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black Lab running
around the highway.
8:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from the Gunflint Trail
said there is a calico cat hanging around outside her door,
and she can’t bring it in because she has dogs. Referred to
Animal Advocates.
11:47 p.m., Tofte: Speeding citation issued.
Sunday, Oct. 16
1:43 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a fight near the
entrance to the lodge.
9:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone and broadband outage on
Maple Hill.
11:05 a.m., Schroeder: Caller thinks his neighbor is burning
garbage in an outdoor boiler.
2:57 p.m., Lutsen: A lost hunter in the area of Clara Lake
Road was located.
7:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported on
East Deeryard Road.
8:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to the campground
to check on a possibly stoned person in a white van.
8:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Fourth Avenue West
reported that someone is burning garbage.
8:18 p.m., Grand Portage: A wrong-turn driver was stopped
at the border with .5 grams of meth.
