Monday, Oct. 3
5:35 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller lost his debit card.
7:36 a.m., Grand Marais: School patrol.
8:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost his wallet. It was last
seen at IGA.
10:28 a.m., Schroeder: An alarm in a camper at
Temperance River State Park was going off. No one is
answering the door or phone.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A camera tripod that was left
on Rango Road by accident was gone when the owner
returned for it.
12:14 p.m., Tofte: Gas drive-off from Tofte General Store.
1:15 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of a wallet and credit card
reported.
8:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made for domestic
assault.
Tuesday, Oct. 4
6:27 a.m., Grand Marais: False burglar alarm at Sven &
Ole’s.
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a cabin break-in and
thefts on Trout Lake Road.
12:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:43 p.m., Grand Marais: False SOS message received
from Jasper Lake.
5:41 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said a dune buggy with big tires
was tearing up the snowmobile trails at Paradise Park
Place.
8:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Panic alarm at Holiday.
8:08 p.m., Grand Portage: False commercial alarm on
Ryden Road.
8:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a man lying on his
back on the shoulder of the highway halfway between
Magney park and County Road 14.
Wednesday, Oct. 5
12:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a person lost in the
woods off County Road 60.
2:56 a.m., Grand Portage: Power outage on Reservation
River Road.
9:00 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted a semi driver at Onion
River.
10:05 a.m., Tofte: Reported theft of an iPad out of a
vehicle parked at the Onion River lot.
2:26 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, Oct. 6
8:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead deer near mile
105 on the highway.
10:09 a.m., Schroeder: Possible fraud by a real estate
agent reported.
12:53 p.m., Schroeder: Complaint about a group of
bicyclists traveling in the middle of the highway.
12:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Break-in of a County Road 6
residence.
6:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance at Grand Marais
Apartments.
8:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle struck two deer on
the highway. One was dead on the lake side, the other
was still alive.
9:41 p.m., Schroeder: Vehicle roll-over at mile marker
76, no injuries reported.
Friday, Oct. 7
2:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said someone cut a
screen on her residence.
5:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a pair of sunglasses
down at Coast Guard Point.
6:14 p.m., Tofte: Deputy assisted a motorist with a flat
tire.
9:49 p.m., Tofte: Power outage on Aspenwood Drive.
Saturday, Oct. 8
8:39 a.m., Lutsen: A vehicle parked at Caribou Highlands
was damaged sometime overnight.
9:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller from County Road 6
said a guy showed up saying he was with AEC and that
the power would be going out for a few minutes while
they switch something over. However, the guy wasn’t
wearing a uniform and was driving a pick-up with
California plates – there was no indication that he was
who he says he was.
1:47 p.m., Grand Marais: A driver’s license was found
near the Trading Post.
3:51 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
7:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birch Terrace said
she was bitten by a dog.
9:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Sunday, Oct. 9
9:10 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
9:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle near
mile marker 123.
11:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a large
amount of garbage dumped in the woods next to a
moose gut pile off Greenwood Lake Road.
1:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Devil Track Road
saw a fox that was acting strangely. The call was referred
to the game warden.
1:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible fire in a boiler room at
Hedstrom’s Lumber.
1:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on phone lines near
Lullaby Creek Road.
7:30 p.m., Grand Portage: Hit-and-run in the casino
parking lot reported.
8:33 p.m., Grand Marais: An electrical problem caused a
small fire at a County Road 48 residence.
