1:02 a.m., Grand Marais:
Attempted break-in of an
apartment reported.
1:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a possibly suicidal man.
8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on County Road 44.
10:16 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at
Bluefin Bay, caused by cooking.
12:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued.
12:53 p.m., Tofte: Caller from
Onion River Road was looking for
directions out of the woods and
back to his vehicle.
1:29 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation
issued.
2:44 p.m., Grand Marais: An RV
parked at West Deeryard Lake was
damaged.
3:03 p.m., Grand Marais: A
65-year-old man fell at Artist Point
and hit his head on the rocks.
3:21 p.m., Grand Marais: A
pink child’s wallet was found on
Wisconsin Street and turned in at
the visitor’s center.
3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
lost a set of Volkswagen keys
somewhere in Grand Marais.
9:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on North Broadway.
Tuesday, Sept. 6
3:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy
spoke with two kids near the fire
hall.
6:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Power
outage on Fall River Road.
7:44 a.m., Grand Marais: False
automated fire alarm at the
hospital.
9:32 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy removed
a tree from Caribou Trail.
10:08 a.m., Lutsen: Deputies were
advised to be on the look-out for a
stolen vehicle out of Minneapolis.

10:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Arrest
made on a Becker County warrant.
10:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
lost a pair of sandals in downtown
Grand Marais over the weekend.
10:39 a.m., Grand Marais: A
vehicle was backed into at the post
office parking lot.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said there is a four-wheeler off the
Gunflint Trail, and no one around.
12:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
wanted to report an issue with his
new neighbors.
12:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Welfare
check requested for an individual
walking the edge on top of the
building next to GunFlint Tavern.
4:09 p.m., Tofte: Theft of money
reported.
7:05 p.m., Grand Marais: A person
who was just kicked out of a
residence was back, banging on the
door.
Wednesday, Sept. 7
2:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
saw lights on in a vehicle at Tire &
Auto Lodge.
10:09 a.m., Schroeder: Caller said
a black pick-up with orange lights
came to his property stating he
needed to take pictures for land
valuation, and it seemed odd.
11:32 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said she locked her daughter in her
car at the pumps at SuperAmerica.
11:49 a.m., Grand Marais:
Reported theft of school
referendum signs from two yards
on Second Avenue East.
5:42 p.m., Tofte: Residential
burglar alarm on West Highway
61.
5:58 p.m., Grand Marais: A tan
and black wallet was found at Java
Moose.

8:22 p.m., Schroeder: Report of
a vehicle driving in to the power
plant.
11:18 p.m., Tofte: Deputy and
a Border Patrol agent checked
an area off the Sawbill Trail for
Rainbow activity.
11:21 p.m., Grand Marais: DWI
arrest made.
Thursday, Sept. 8
10:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking
complaint regarding an RV parked
in front of Sawtooth Lumber that
is blocking the view of oncoming
traffic.
10:16 a.m., Lutsen: Report of an
abandoned vehicle at the end of
Steam Engine Road.
11:26 a.m., Schroeder: A truck
towing a boat went into the ditch
near Satellite’s.
11:31 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic
citation issued at mile marker 117.
12:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic
citation issued.
12:47 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said
a very intoxicated person was
attempting to drive his pick-up
down the stairs along the bike
path at Temperance River State
Park. It then backed out of the trail
and onto Highway 61, unknown
direction of travel.
1:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy
called to check on an elderly
man who has been pushing a
two-wheeled cart around Grand
Portage.
3:00 p.m., Hovland: Caller said a
person was squatting at a residence
on Hammer Road.
3:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
a motorcycle racing up Broadway
at 50-60 mph.
3:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported
theft of a bicycle from in front of
the library.

4:21 p.m., Tofte: Neighbor problem
on Wildwood Acres Trail.
5:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Fenderbender on Bay Estates Drive.
8:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of
suspicious activity involving two
boats on West Twin Lake.
10:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud
music complaint about the
GunFlint Tavern.
11:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said a semi-truck engine has been
idling near Mangy Moose since 8
p.m.
Friday, Sept. 9
9:21 a.m., Grand Portage: Traffic
citation issued.
1:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said he thinks someone has been
going on his property and messing
with his stuff.
1:32 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted
State Patrol with a DWI.
2:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic
dispute reported.
9:11 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation
issued.
9:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said there is a white vehicle parked
at the southeast corner of the
football field, and there are a lot
of kids hanging out there. It seems
suspicious.
Saturday, Sept. 10
12:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Report
of a fight on Townsite Road.
5:01 a.m., Schroeder: A runner
was down on Sugar Loaf Road,
disoriented and breathing.
8:39 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic
citation issued.
9:27 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation
issued.
10:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Report
of a vehicle passing a school bus in
a no passing zone on the Gunflint
Trail.

11:47 a.m., Grand Marais:
Complaint about a loud group
of campers at Flour Lake
Campground during the night.
1:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A wet
golden retriever was at Chik-Wauk
museum.
1:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Fenderbender at the post office.
2:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas
drive-off from SuperAmerica.
2:32 p.m., Grand Marais: Dumping
of mattresses and box springs at
Oddz & Endz reported again.
2:41 p.m., Schroeder: Deputy
assistance with traffic control
requested by a tow truck driver
when he pulls a truck out of the
ditch on Highway 61.
3:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible
fraud activity involving an ATM at
the casino.
4:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said there is a homeless man
behind the library yelling at people
who are going to use the Internet.
10:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller
said he came home and there was a
person sleeping on his stairs.
Sunday, Sept. 11
11:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Report
of a lost vehicle fob at Artist Point.
2:46 p.m., Grand Portage:
Domestic disturbance reported.
7:12 p.m., Schroeder: Trespassing
reported.
7:46 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm ay
Bluefin Bay.
8:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Two
dog complaints received from the
campground. One dog was barking
in a tent, and the other is running
loose.
10:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Report
of a fight at GunFlint Tavern.
