sunglasses was found and turned in to the sheriff ’s
department.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassing phone calls
received.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his identity and
credit card were stolen.
5:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a loose donkey on
County Road 7.
7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding
an RV that was parked in front of North House in a no
parking zone and blocking the view of oncoming traffic.
Tuesday, Aug. 23
9:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost camera reported.
11:27 a.m., Hovland: Caller from Jackson Lake Road
found two circular laser-cut sheet metal/copper
cuttings in his driveway.
12:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible drug activity
reported at Pincushion Mountain.
1:02 p.m., Grand Marais: The Gunflint Trail ambulance
needed a tow truck to Steve’s Sports after it broke down
on the Gunflint Trail.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported; a
vehicle followed a parent to the day care center and was
sitting there for about an hour.
Wednesday, Aug. 24
12:43 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a loud
party on the beach near East Bay Suites.
8:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a ladder
from the credit union.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: False burglar alarm at Sven &
Ole’s.
9:41 a.m., Schroeder: Two-vehicle accident reported at
mile marker 76, no injuries.
2:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle struck a deer on the
Gunflint Trail and needed a tow.
4:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported
regarding a vehicle parked outside a day care center.
6:56 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said some foreign
workers who live in the basement of Spruce Glen have
been smoking marijuana.
Thursday, Aug. 25
2:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible trespassing reported
on Devil Track Road.
2:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Scam reported.
2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: A border collie ran off from
its Fall River Road home.
2:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is no
emergency – they are just testing their new phone
system.
3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a white shepherd,
dead at the bottom of the high falls at Devil Track
River-Highway 61. There are no ID tags on the dog.
4:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone stabbed
his tires.
4:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
4:57 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller from Birchwood
Apartments said her plants were taken from outside,
under the window.
6:33 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
7:36 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
9:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a disturbance in
front of the Trading Post, possibly drug-related.
Friday, Aug. 26
1:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a break-in attempt
was unfounded.
8:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Illegal garbage dumping on
Pike Lake Road.
10:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a person with a
four-wheeler near Harbor Inn, pulling a trailer with
someone in a wheelchair, going all around town.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a three-legged
husky just ran off from Brandon Lane, heading towards
town.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Drug paraphernalia was
found at Bluefin Bay.
9:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about kids who
were still at the skate park. It closes at dark.
Saturday, Aug. 27
4:16 a.m., Lutsen: False fire alarm at the Mountain Inn.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a mini van that
has been parked on County Road 14 for about 12 hours
now.
12:49 p.m., Grand Marais: A wallet was found on
Highway 61 near Tac Harbor.
5:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Gas drive-off of $41.42 from
Super America.
5:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at Joynes
for some shoplifters.
11:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested to remove
an unwanted person from Birch Terrace.
Sunday, Aug. 28
8:19 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
11:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Dumping reported on
County Road 14.
1:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a woman
sitting on the rocks at the breakwall with a gash in her
leg, bleeding. An ambulance was called.
3:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a St. Louis
County warrant.
8:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost fanny
pack in the area of Stone Harbor.
