Monday, Aug. 15
6:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Biker struck a deer at mile marker 101.
7:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost his brown checkbook.
9:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller lost a camera on the Kadunce
hiking trail.
11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: An old black truck with a red and
white trailer ran into a tent drying rack at Bear Track Outfitting,
and headed west on Highway 61.
5:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Reported theft of a laptop computer.
7:51 p.m., Grand Portage: Reported theft of a purse from an
office at the lodge.
Tuesday, Aug. 16
3:25 a.m., Grand Marais: State Patrol had an unoccupied vehicle
that was in the ditch near mile marker 81 towed.
7:25 a.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a pick-up at mile
marker 105. The truck was damaged and the deer got up and
ran away.
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Some hikers took a picture of a lump
in a collapsed tent on the Superior Hiking Trail and will bring it
in to the Law Enforcement Center.
5:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint from the Rec
Park. The caller said the owner leaves the dogs in his camper.
7:25 p.m., Grand Marais: A caller said he found a bullet hole in
his vehicle.
7:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller on Cardinal Road said he could
hear gunfire for the past 15 minutes, coming from County Road
7-County Road 44.
Wednesday, Aug. 17
8:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle rollover on Gunflint Trail-
Devil Track Road.
8:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Resident on First Avenue East found
his garage door open. Not sure if anything was missing.
11:45 a.m., Lutsen: Theft of property reported.
5:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Fender-bender in the IGA parking lot.
8:15 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
11:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two men at the pumps at
Buck’s Hardware yelling at each other.
Thursday, Aug. 18
3:52 a.m., Grand Marais: A cloth bag containing a woman’s
wallet was found at the Laundromat and brought in to the Law
Enforcement Center.
9:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he received harassing calls
from an inmate.
11:12 a.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
1:16 p.m., Tofte: Carbon monoxide detector was going off at
Surfside Resort.
1:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at Aspen Lodge to
deal with somebody who was pounding on the caller’s unit and
causing issues.
2:24 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
4:05 p.m., Hovland: Caller needed help with a flat tire.
4:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a van speeding
around Artist Point.
5:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a vehicle parked
near the Superior Hiking Trailhead on County Road 14, and it
looks suspicious.
5:23 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said his two daughters were
arguing, and he wants them removed from the house.
5:46 p.m., Tofte: Report of a stolen trailer ramp from a vehicle
parked at Sawbill Canoe Outfitters.
7:05 p.m., Schroeder: Power outage on Cramer Road.
10:05 p.m., Grand Portage: Two sets of padlock keys were found
on East Highway 61.
10:44 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
Friday, Aug. 19
9:41 a.m., Grand Marais: A black Lab was running loose on
South Shore Drive.
10:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suicidal man who has
loaded weapons.
11:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a green tent or
something in the wooded part of Artist Point.
1:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was in a grocery store a
few weeks ago and a middle-aged woman touched his butt.
1:36 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:28 p.m., Schroeder: Caller said her daughter is out on a kayak
at Temperance River State Park, and is floating way out.
4:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a disturbance at Harbor
View Apartments caused by an intoxicated person.
4:42 p.m., Grand Marais: A Yeti bag with groceries was found
on the sidewalk near the Trading Post. The person who found
the bag wanted it back if it wasn’t claimed; he thinks the owners
drove away without putting it in their car.
5:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a motorcycle driving
up Broadway on its rear wheel.
6:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:16 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
8:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Illegal camping at Sand Point
reported.
11:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A person brought in to North Shore
Health for a mental evaluation left without permission.
11:39 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported at Harbor Inn.
