Monday, May 9
6:30 a.m., Grand Portage: U.S. Customs
stopped a couple wrong-turn guys who
had a small amount of marijuana, none
of whom wanted to claim it. A deputy
was requested.
8:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said
he saw a medium-size husky-German
shepherd mix walking in the ball club
area. He didn’t think much of it at the
time, but now is wondering if this was a
“Lassie-type moment,” and someone was
in trouble.
11:51 a.m., Schroeder: A shepherd-mix
dog, “Meatball,” took off from a Cramer
Road residence.
12:27 p.m., Lutsen: Report that
there is an abandoned vehicle on the
snowmobile trail. The front end is
smashed in and it looks like the air bag
went off, and there is a big rock on the
hood.
6:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm
was set off at Gunflint Hills Golf Course.
Tuesday, May 10
2:56 a.m., Grand Portage: Deputy
requested at the casino after someone
drove up over a curb and ran into the
handicap parking sign.
9:23 a.m., Tofte: Predatory offender
check.
10:46 a.m., Schroeder: Predatory
offender compliance check.
11:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Assistance
was sought to locate a missing boy who
left school.
5:07 p.m., Grand Portage: Burglary
reported after it was discovered that
money was missing.
11:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputies
were alerted by Lake County that a silver
Volvo swerved toward highway workers,
and was heading toward Cook County.
Wednesday, May 11
10:16 a.m., Schroeder: A dog was found
running near the power plant and
returned to its owner.
6:11 p.m., Tofte: Report of a hot-rodding
Bison semi on the highway.
6:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation
issued.
