Monday, May 2
6:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured by a
vehicle at Old Ski Hill Road-Gunflint Trail.
7:24 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about drivers
speeding in the area of the school.
7:49 a.m., Hovland: Caller said a car has been parked
at the Superior Hiking Trail pull-off for over a week.
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
1:48 p.m., Hovland: A small border collie showed up
at a Chicago Bay Road residence.
2:05 p.m., Hovland: The DNR found a burned-up
snowmobile about a mile in on the Esther Lake Road.
It looked like it has been there for quite a while, and
they were unable to get any info off it.
5:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost leather wallet reported
by the owner, somewhere near the IGA or Landromat
on Fifth Avenue West.
8:15 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
Tuesday, May 3
7:39 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:06 a.m., Lutsen: Report of a semi on the side of the
road at Ski Hill Road-Highway 61.
10:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of possible
maltreatment of a child.
11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone outage reported on
Sea Gull Lake Road.
4:26 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm at Grand
Marais Apartments.
5:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on County
Road 6.
6:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
9:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he saw persons
removing guns from a residence.
Wednesday, May 4
12:18 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
12:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
1:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Verbal threats reported.
1:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller’s black Scottie is
missing.
5:09 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, May 5
1:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Fraud phone call reported.
3:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller advised law
enforcement that he would be doing flashlight
photography under water at Artist Point beginning at
3 a.m., for the next three days.
3:45 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus stop arm
violation by a delivery truck near the water tower.
Friday, May 6
3:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck and injured on
the highway near Thomsonite Beach Motel.
8:34 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his daughter is
missing. She took off last night, and isn’t in school
today.
10:34 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller expressed concern
for a child who lives in a home full of mold.
10:44 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
1:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance
reported.
1:36 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
2:19 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
3:32 p.m., Grand Portage: Assault reported.
3:57 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
9:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage reported on
South Shore Drive.
Saturday, May 7
12:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of four vehicles,
believed to be four-wheelers and dirt bikes, ripping
up County Road 14 and Jeffrey Lane. The caller said it
has been going on since about 10 p.m.
1:07 a.m., Tofte: A trooper west of town assisted with
a call from an expectant mother in fast labor coming
down from the top of Sawbill Trail.
1:39 a.m., Schroeder: Domestic argument reported.
2:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of trees down on
County Road 60.
2:13 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a grass fire near Railroad
Drive, spreading into the woods.
9:52 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said there is a black
Jeep parked on Joe’s Road, and it seems odd.
10:26 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a large tree
down and blocking Old Highway 61.
Sunday, May 8
6:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Structure fire on the
Gunflint Trail.
1:13 p.m., Lutsen: A canoe was found on the lake at
Pine Tree Drive.
2:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
6:50 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a missing canoer
who was on the Temperance River and has been gone
about six hours.
9:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Motorist assist.
