7:29 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy participated in Safe Routes to
School.
9:23 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
11:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle and still
alive in the ditch off Highway 61.
2:08 p.m., Hovland: Deputy assisted a semi driver who was
stopped on the highway.
3:09 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he believes someone
is stalking him.
3:37 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
8:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off County
Road 14.
9:44 p.m., Lutsen: False security alarm.
Tuesday, Feb. 23
7:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible harassment reported.
9:56 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
2:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:01 p.m., Grand Marais: Crank phone call received.
5:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Wednesday, Feb. 24
8:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Dead deer removed from the
highway at Croftville Road.
10:48 a.m., Lutsen: Possible trespassing reported.
11:11 a.m., Grand Portage: False elevator alarm.
1:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at Sawtooth Elementary School.
6:12 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
7:08 p.m., Grand Marais: False fire alarm at Sven & Ole’s
caused by smoke in the building.
Thursday, Feb. 25
7:40 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that there are
footprints in the snow around her house and in front of
her picture window that were made sometime overnight.
9:35 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
10:03 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
11:02 a.m., Tofte: Harassment reported.
1:34 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at Oshki Ogimaag.
11:37 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
Friday, Feb. 26
8:43 a.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
11:53 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
42-year-old man with a broken right leg.
12:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Ambulance called to Hungry
Jack Lake for a snowmobile accident victim with a
collarbone injury.
6:24 p.m., Tofte: Car-struck deer still alive on the shoulder
of the highway at mile marker 84.
7:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
9:12 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy called to Papa Charlie’s to
speak with a man with facial injuries, possibly from a
snowmobile accident.
Saturday, Feb. 27
7:06 a.m., Tofte: False commercial fire alarm.
9:47 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
head injury.
11:05 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of exhibition driving on
Devil Track Road.
12:28 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
57-year-old with hip and shoulder injuries.
2:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
3:30 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible abuse reported.
4:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on an Itasca County
warrant.
5:22 p.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway.
5:40 p.m., Tofte: Caller said he was stuck on the abandoned
Tofte runway, and needed a tow.
7:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A person was in the liquor
store for a half-hour, talking to the bottles. A deputy was
requested to check on him.
8:09 p.m., Schroeder: A lynx or bobcat was struck by a
vehicle on the highway near the power plant.
9:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of an intoxicated woman,
confused and wandering around, near Holiday.
11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
Sunday, Feb. 28
8:24 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
9:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tipped-over outhouse
on South Broadway.
12:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:43 p.m., Grand Portage: A wrong-turn Canadian was
cited at the border for possession of marijuana and
released.
2:46 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
13-year-old with back pain.
3:05 p.m., Schroeder: Deputy requested to dispatch an
injured deer at the entrance to Taconite Harbor.
3:45 p.m., Tofte: Caller was stuck on Carlton Peak Road
and needed a tow.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of snowmobiles driving
through the caller’s yard.
4:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
5:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspected child abuse.
Monday, Feb. 29
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
10:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on Croftville
Road.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle was stuck in Devil
Track Campground and needed a tow to get out

5:31 p.m., Grand Marais: School bus accident at Third
Avenue East-East Fifth Street. No injuries reported.
5:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assistance was requested
to locate a 5-year-old boy who walked away from the
YMCA.
Tuesday, March 1
7:50 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
8:16 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted a semi driver on the
highway.
8:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy was called to a
disturbance at Pine Mountain Trailer Court. Someone
sprayed pop all over the caller’s car, and drove away.
12:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller requested a deputy
because of a family squabble on Facebook.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Property damage reported to a
house on Highway 61, which appeared to have been hit by
a vehicle over the winter.
2:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Vulnerable adult case.
3:49 p.m., Grand Marais: A deer was hit and killed by a
vehicle at mile marker 105. The vehicle was disabled.
5:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a rider with a
broken-down snowmobile at Lima Grade.
7:19 p.m., Hovland: Possible heat outage reported; the
temperature was down to 40 degrees.
8:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller complained about
snowmobiles traveling across his yard on Townsite Road.
9:17 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a dead deer in the lane of
traffic at mile marker 74.
10:28 p.m., Lutsen: A red truck with two occupants went
into the ditch off the east side of Ski Hill Road.
Wednesday, March 2
8:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his vehicle was hit and
damaged while parked in the Legion parking lot the day
before.
8:49 a.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
11:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a little blackish gray
dog was walking around his front yard on East Fifth Street.
12:59 p.m., Hovland: Report of a dog team wrapped up on
a truck at Otter Lake Road-Arrowhead Trail.
1:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy conducted a DARE class
for fifth-graders.
7:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his vehicle was almost
hit by snowmobiles at the Gunflint Trail crossing, and
wants to make sure there are stop signs there.
Thursday, March 3
1:07 a.m., Grand Marais: Residential fire alarm on First
Avenue East. It was caused by something on the stove.
7:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a snowmobiler driving
up and down on the golf course at Gunflint Hills.
10:09 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist who
was having trouble with his snowmobile trailer.
1:22 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at Oshki Ogimaag.
8:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on County Road 6.
8:21 p.m., Lutsen: Report of debris on the road near
Arrowhead Electric.
Friday, March 4
7:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller was concerned about a
dog that is always tied up outside and doesn’t appear to
have shelter.
4:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was charged by a
pit bull at Gofer Cabins.
5:10 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller on Townsite Road said
the snowmobiles are back in his yard right now.
7:04 p.m., Lutsen: Report of extremely slippery conditions
on Ski Hill Road.
7:54 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that there is a female
outside Dairy Queen acting weird, and she started a fire in
the fire pit.
8:31 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said her car went into the ditch at
Ski Hill Road, and then the snow plow almost ran into her.
Saturday, March 5
12:27 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a
truck on the snowmobile trail.
8:31 a.m., Hovland: Pick-up truck in the ditch off
Arrowhead Trail.
9:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Arrest for DWI.
1:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:07 p.m., Lutsen: Parking complaint regarding a vehicle
left in a handicap spot.
2:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle was stuck on Devil Track
Road and needed a tow truck.
4:03 p.m., Grand Marais: A key ring with two keys on it
was lost somewhere downtown.
6:39 p.m., Grand Marais: A deer that was struck and
injured by a vehicle at Cascade State Park was lying
underneath a spruce tree, and needed to be put down.
Sunday, March 6
12:20 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
7:37 a.m., Grand Marais: A loud boom was followed by a
power outage on Bents Road.
1:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of hot-rodding near
Cascade State Park by a pick-up with Ontario plates.
7:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Broadband outage at Pine
Mountain Court.
9:58 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy requested to remove two
intoxicated women from the dining room at the lodge.
