Monday, Feb. 15
12:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Possible break-in/burglary
reported.
8:23 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted State Patrol with a
vehicle off the road.
8:34 a.m., Grand Marais: A fire alarm was determined
to be set off by burned toast.
11:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:15 p.m., Tofte: Fire alarm set off by burned pizza.
3:34 p.m., Tofte: False panic alarm from Coho Café.
Tuesday, Feb. 16
7:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:29 a.m., Grand Marais: A chubby female tabby cat
was found on Sixth Avenue West.
Wednesday, Feb. 17
8:25 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern
about the workers at GunFlint Tavern, who again
blocked off the street and created a hazard.
12:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at Sawtooth Elementary School.
2:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a stolen
wedding ring, valued at $1,200.
2:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Threats reported.
5:07 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
7:04 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:48 p.m., Lutsen: A drunk individual came into
Lutsen Resort, threatened violence if he wasn’t given a
room, and when he wasn’t, he exited, urinated in the
parking lot and sped off.
Thursday, Feb. 18
8:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Assault reported at the high
school.
10:35 a.m., Grand Marais: A kids’ bike was left near the
Aspen Inn parking lot.
12:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:14 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at Oshki Ogimaag.
1:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted a motorist
who slid off Pike Lake Road.
3:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
8:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said an intoxicated
woman was driving recklessly downtown, and hit the
curb in front of Beth’s Fudge.
11:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller on Sag Lake Trail said
his dual heat system is not working, and his pipes have
frozen.
Friday, Feb. 19
6:14 a.m., Hovland: Domestic altercation.
10:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint from
Birchwood Apartments.
11:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a deer
that appears to be dead on the roadway near Kah Nee
Tah Gallery.
1:22 p.m., Lutsen: Trespassing reported.
5:49 p.m., Tofte: False smoke alarm.
10:53 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, Feb. 20
1:04 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off West
First Street.
7:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of standing water on
Hall Road and Highway 61.
8:17 a.m., Hovland: Report of glare ice on the highway
to the Canadian border.
2:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic altercation.
4:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about snow being
piled improperly near Aspen Lodge, and unauthorized
parking of snowmobile trailers.
4:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a missing Burmese
mountain dog.
6:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller left her purse at the
Laundromat.
8:51 p.m., Grand Marais: A tarp that belongs to
Sawtooth Lumber was pulled off the roadway near
Harbor Light and returned to the lumber yard.
10:10 p.m., Tofte: Report of a suspicious vehicle parked
at Oberg Mountain parking lot.
10:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A credit card and hotel room
key were found on the sidewalk and brought in to the
Law Enforcement Center.
Sunday, Feb. 21
4:56 a.m., Grand Marais: A male German shepherd,
“Percy,” has been missing since 3:15 a.m. from Cedar
Grove Lane.
7:59 a.m., Grand Portage: Law enforcement officers
were advised that a low-flying helicopter and plane
would be in the area conducting a moose survey.
8:06 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a large ice bump on
the highway near Benny’s Collision, creating a hazard.
1:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious van
that has been sitting near the bus garage for about five
hours, with an occupant.
2:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a hydrant is
spraying water on the snowmobile trail behind the
Harbor Light.
2:21 p.m., Tofte: Parking complaint at Crescent Lake
Campground; a vehicle was parked in by two pick-ups
that were blocking the road.
2:29 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a
57-year-old with a head injury.
3:33 p.m., Tofte: Snowmobile complaint regarding use
of the Sawbill Trail.
4:03 p.m., Grand Portage: A person riding a bike on
Store Road was bitten by a dog.
