Monday, Feb. 8
5:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint on
School House Road regarding a vehicle impeding the
snow plow.
7:30 a.m., Grand Marais: Phone fraud reported.
7:51 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:59 a.m., Tofte: Vehicle in the ditch, no injuries
reported.
10:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Noise complaint at
Sawtooth Ridges.
11:08 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
12:53 p.m., Grand Marais: An abandoned vehicle was
towed from Clearview.
4:42 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle in the ditch near the
Berglund Wayside Rest.
5:12 p.m., Lutsen: Deer struck on the highway, no
injuries reported.
10:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at mile
marker 113.
Tuesday, Feb. 9
7:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:02 a.m., Lutsen: Caller said a deer that was hit by
a vehicle last night is still alive and in the ditch, and
needs to be put down.
11:25 a.m., Grand Marais: The Sheriff ’s Department
escorted the ski team from the high school to the
outskirts of town as they headed to States.
1:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the workers at
GunFlint Tavern are not using traffic cones around
the lift truck, creating a traffic hazard.
3:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Several calls were received
about trucks on the corner of Trout Lake Road
working with no warning signs, causing a hazard.
3:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a loaded
logging truck going down Eighth Avenue West.
4:10 p.m., Grand Marais: A medium-sized brown dog,
wearing an orange jacket, was running around the
campground.
Wednesday, Feb. 10
9:36 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of people sitting in
a car, halfway in the eastbound lane of the highway
near Spruce Creek.
11:33 a.m., Hovland: Report of loose dogs on the
North Road-Arrowhead Trail.
12:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Deputy conducted a DARE
program.
6:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy assisted a stuck
semi on Casino Drive.
7:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Possible trespassing at
Birchwood Apartments.
8:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Fire department notified of
a carbon monoxide alarm that was activated at a West
Highway 61 residence.
9:17 p.m., Lutsen: Vehicle slid into the ditch off
Caribou Trail.
11:41 p.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, Feb. 11
12:33 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
7:44 a.m., Lutsen: False fire alarm at Caribou
Highlands.
10:11 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:22 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy requested at the
clinic.
1:11 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at the charter school.
3:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment and threats
reported.
5:21 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
Friday, Feb. 12
7:40 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
9:11 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
9:32 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
10:18 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:04 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill
for an injured woman.
10:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller was locked out of his
van, which was running, in the parking lot at Cascade
Lodge.
11:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Saturday, Feb. 13
8:20 a.m., Tofte: Vehicle off the road at Johannes Lane.
10:07 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm.
2:10 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a 25-year-old woman with a lower back injury.
Sunday, Feb. 14
10:08 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
12:17 p.m., Schroeder: Deer struck and injured by a
vehicle.
12:47 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:31 p.m., Hovland: Deer struck at mile marker 127,
and still alive in the ditch.
2:38 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
2:57 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for
a 14-year-old male with a lower back injury.
3:14 p.m., Tofte: Deer struck and injured by a car on
the highway.
4:12 p.m., Tofte: Traffic citation issued.
7:27 p.m., Lutsen: False fire alarm on Ski Hill Road.
