Monday, Jan. 25
7:47 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
11:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Lost cell phone reported at
Eagle Mountain.
1:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Attempted phone fraud
reported.
Tuesday, Jan. 26
6:47 a.m., Grand Portage: A bus that was stuck at the
Josephine wayside requested highway department help.
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais:: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
8:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle at
Kelly’s Hill-Highway 61.
10:40 a.m., Grand Marais: A person who had fallen at
Fourth Avenue West-West Third Street flagged down
a deputy and wanted to alert the Grand Marais Street
Department about the safety hazard of ice.
11:14 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:27 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost woman’s
wedding band.
Wednesday, Jan. 27
2:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Alcohol complaint at Birch
Terrace.
11:55 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a lost snowmobile
ramp somewhere on the Gunflint Trail.
2:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off County
Road 60.
3:31 p.m., Grand Marais: A semi jackknifed on the
highway near Angry Trout, blocking both lanes of traffic.
7:08 p.m., Tofte: A vehicle hit a mail box on the Sawbill
Trail.
7:29 p.m., Grand Marais: A customer left a wallet at the
liquor store.
9:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver arrested for DWI.
Thursday, Jan. 28
12:21 a.m., Hovland: Deer struck and killed by a vehicle
on the highway near mile marker 127.
11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: False security alarm activation
at Sawtooth Ridges caused by an employee.
12:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black Lab in the
middle of the highway chasing vehicles.
1:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Parking complaint regarding a
vehicle that was left on the Arrowhead Trail, impeding
the snow plows.
1:18 p.m., Grand Portage: Deputy conducted a DARE
program at the charter school.
4:45 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a large pile
of snow in the westbound lane of County Road 7, and it
is very hazardous.
7:12 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy checked on a broken down
snowmobile on the Caribou Trail.
11:56 p.m., Lutsen: Caller wanted some medical advice
for a burn on the hand and wanted to know if they
should come to the hospital. No ambulance was needed.
Friday, Jan. 29
12:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a vehicle with three
females inside was being followed on the highway, and it
appeared suspicious.
1:45 a.m., Grand Portage: Reported theft of $46 from a
person at the lodge.
3:37 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy pulled a deer carcass off
the highway.
8:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Callers wanted the phone
number for a locksmith because they were locked out of
their house.
2:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
6:49 p.m., Grand Portage: Parking complaint on Mile
Creek Road.
9:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a black Lab-sized dog
running along Wisconsin Street.
10:08 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said there is a guy
standing in the trees, and he doesn’t think it’s the
neighbor.
10:26 p.m., Lutsen: Report of very slippery conditions on
Ski Hill Road.
Saturday, Jan. 30
12:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported at East
Bay Suites.
9:28 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage since 10:30 p.m.
Friday reported on Cascade Beach Road.
10:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Burglar alarm activated on
Sea Gull Lake Road, but the building was found to be
secure.
11:08 a.m., Grand Marais: An injured deer near
Thomsonite Beach was dispatched.
12:27 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller said his bank account
was drained by fraudulent use of an ATM.
3:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two white sedans
drag racing on Brandon Lane.
3:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he found a man
lying in a puddle on Artist Point, who said he was down
there to get his hair cut. The caller said he took the man
home, but he seemed a bit confused and a deputy should
check on his welfare.
4:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:27 p.m., Grand Marais: A car parked at the YMCA
was backed into, creating minor damage, and it was not
reported.
7:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Arrest made on a probation
violation.
9:20 p.m., Tofte: Parking complaint regarding a pick-up
with a snowmobile trailer blocking the entrance of
WatersEdge, and also in the right of way.
Sunday, Jan. 31
12:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Disturbance reported in a
room at Aspen Lodge.
3:03 a.m., Croftville: CO detector going off at a
residence. The caller said he wasn’t feeling any
symptoms.
11:03 a.m., Hovland: Caller said his home is full of
carbon monoxide, and he’s getting the animals out and
waiting outside for the fire department.
3:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
7:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance reported.
