Monday, Dec. 28
9:20 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:46 p.m., Tofte: Report that three trees were down at the
Grade, partially blocking the roadway.
2:59 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
8:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a white
vehicle driving “all crazy like” down at the Point.
Tuesday, Dec. 29
4:23 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree down on the
Gunflint Trail.
10:28 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft reported.
10:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a probation
violation.
12:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Arrest made on a probation
violation.
Wednesday, Dec. 30
6:08 a.m., Grand Portage: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway just west of Grand Portage.
10:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Fraud reported. Someone
opened a cell phone account under the caller’s name.
1:06 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Traffic citation issued.
5:59 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, Dec. 31
3:25 a.m., Lutsen: Drunken disturbance reported
regarding an aggressive man who was out of control,
punching walls and threatening.
10:18 a.m., Lutsen: Traffic citation issued.
12:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:51 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a four-wheeler tearing around on Highway 61 in front of the
Border Patrol station.
2:16 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Devil Track
Road.
3:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she lost $300 in a
credit union envelope.
5:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway.
6:03 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch at County
Roads 6-7.
6:07 p.m., Lutsen: Caller said a vehicle has been parked
on Caribou Trail for the past five hours, with no sign of
anybody around.
6:56 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a number of shots
fired on Margaret’s Road.
Friday, Jan. 1
3:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone is banging
on the outside door of his house.
3:51 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
4:28 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at AmericInn.
8:31 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller on East Fifth Street
heard eight or nine shots coming from the highway.
9:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Menogyn
Trail.
11:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a deer down on the
road near the vet clinic.
Saturday, Jan. 2
8:43 a.m., Tofte: False alarm activation at Water’s Edge.
10:56 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a van in the ditch
north of Trout Lake Road, and someone out digging
with a shovel.
11:48 a.m., Lutsen: A couch cushion was removed from
the highway.
4:32 p.m., Hovland: Report of a white trailer pulled off
the highway, very close to the driving lane. There was no
plate on the trailer, and it wasn’t attached to a vehicle.
6:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off
Clearwater Road.
8:17 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
10:11 p.m., Tofte: Deer in the middle of the road at mile
marker 82.
10:41 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about a red SUV
with a loud muffler driving up Ninth Avenue West.
Sunday, Jan. 3
12:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:58 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller found what appears to
be a friendly pet pigeon, white with gray tail feathers.
5:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-vehicle accident involving
a minivan and a logging truck. No injuries reported.
7:22 p.m., Grand Marais: A vehicle pulling a U-Haul
trailer was stuck on Wesley Lane, blocking the road.
8:12 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a long-haired dog,
medium- to large-sized, in a yard on North Broadway.
9:55 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dog on the west
side of the Gunflint Trail, which was almost hit by a car.
