8:15 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a three-legged
malamute is running around near Subway.
11:02 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that a black-and-white
mixed breed dog is running around private property on
Fifth Avenue West.
1:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Highway Department notified
of icy conditions on the Gunflint Trail hill near town.
4:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Highway Department notified
of a tree down in the northbound lane of the Gunflint
Trail.
8:11 p.m., Tofte: False alarm at Bluefin Bay.
Tuesday, Dec. 15
7:59 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
11:44 a.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.
3:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about teens in a
pick-up spinning cookies in the intersection at the bank,
and heading toward Artist Point.
5:57 p.m., Lutsen: Dead deer blocking the southbound
lane of the highway.
Wednesday, Dec. 16
5:14 a.m., Grand Portage: False fire alarm at the Great
Hall (national monument).
7:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a tree down on
County Road 7 near the highway. Highway Department
notified.
11:12 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a jack-knifed semi
on the highway in front of Birch Terrace.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Domestic disturbance.
12:16 p.m., Grand Portage: Vehicle was struck on Casino
Drive, disabling it.
12:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on County Road
60 between Lindskog Road and County Road 14.
Highway Department notified.
2:37 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down on the Gunflint
Trail, a mile past the South Brule River. Highway
Department notified.
3:17 p.m., Grand Portage: False fire alarm at the national
monument.
3:50 p.m., Grand Marais: A parked truck on Fifth
Avenue West was struck and damaged.
7:23 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on South Shore
Drive. Power outages were also reported on County
Road 14, Old Ski Hill and Cutoff roads.
Thursday, Dec. 17
7:19 a.m., Lutsen: False burglar alarm.
10:41 a.m., Hovland: Very icy conditions on Highway 61
reported.
5:42 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle in the ditch off County
Road 6.
7:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
7:46 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of deer on the side of
the road at mile marker 123.
Friday, Dec. 18
9:08 a.m., Tofte: A caller concerned about a vehicle
parked in a Forest Service pull-off was referred to the
Forest Service.
11:47 a.m., Grand Portage: Report of a sheet of ice,
possibly stream-related, across the westbound lane of the
highway. MnDOT notified.
12:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Driver stopped in to the Law
Enforcement Center to report that a black Lab is loose in
the area, and chased his car.
4:26 p.m., Grand Marais: An unoccupied SUV was in the
ditch near the Gunflint Trail-Cutoff Road intersection.
5:53 p.m., Grand Marais: Deer struck by a vehicle on the
highway.
Saturday, Dec. 19
8:53 a.m., Hovland: Report that North and Camp 20
roads are a sheet of ice. Highway Department notified.
9:18 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin.
11:46 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy assisted with an arrest
warrant.
2:00 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
9:13 p.m., Grand Portage: DWI arrest.
Sunday, Dec. 20
9:52 a.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Clearwater
Road.
10:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:03 p.m., Lutsen: Deputy assisted with a vehicle in the
ditch.
4:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Tree down and blocking traffic
on the Gunflint Trail.
