Monday, Dec. 7
7:45 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
10:49 a.m., Grand Marais: E-mail scam reported.
2:34 p.m., Grand Marais: Credit card fraud reported.
8:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing person reported.
9:44 p.m., Grand Marais: Missing dog reported. “Inca”
was last seen on Murmur Creek Road at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 8
2:25 a.m., Grand Portage: Suspicious activity reported.
Someone tampered with the tires on a van near Human
Services.
4:01 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of lights on in the Forest
Service garage.
7:41 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy participated in Safe
Routes to School.
9:27 a.m., Grand Marais: A friendly collie mix, “Duffy,”
ran off from Creechville Road.
1:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
1:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
4:01 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a person riding
a bicycle west from the Port, who was rejected at the
border. Deputy assistance was requested.
9:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Loud music complaint.
Wednesday, Dec. 9
12:13 a.m., Tofte: Report of gunshots fired in a parking
lot at Bluefin Bay.
6:57 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of very slippery roads in
the downtown area.
12:50 p.m., Grand Marais: Three or four teens were seen
dumping a bunch of garbage in the Rec Park. A witness
got the license plate number, and the white pick-up was
later seen at the Y.
2:57 p.m., Tofte: A car parked at Bluefin Bay was keyed
sometime overnight.
3:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Some pre-packaged marijuana
was found in the brush outside the house the caller
recently purchased.
6:23 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a man yelling at the
school.
6:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of two men arguing in
a front yard.
Thursday, Dec. 10
11:07 a.m., Tofte: False fire alarm set off by an employee.
12:11 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
12:46 p.m., Hovland: Traffic citation issued.
2:52 p.m., Grand Portage: Hot-rodding reported on
Casino Drive.
3:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said a pipe burst in the
laundry room, it’s flooding the house, and he cannot find
a way to turn the water off.
9:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Civil dispute at Outpost Motel.
10:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle slid off Devil Track
Road and into the ditch.
Friday, Dec. 11
9:03 a.m., Grand Marais: Complaint about logging
trucks using Eighth Avenue West.
10:16 a.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
1:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that the green light on
Broadway facing downhill is burned out. City Hall was
notified.
1:20 p.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
5:13 p.m., Grand Marais: Moose struck by a vehicle on
the Gunflint Trail, near North Brule River bridge. The
moose was dispatched and the vehicle was towed. The
road was reported as being icy.
7:18 p.m., Grand Marais: A moose was struck by a
vehicle on the Gunflint Trail.
Saturday, Dec. 12
8:36 a.m., Lutsen: Deer struck and injured on Highway
61. State Patrol notified.
1:38 p.m., Grand Marais: Two-car accident at West First
Street-Fifth Avenue West. No injuries reported.
11:41 p.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was requested to
remove an unwanted person who appeared to be drunk
and had possibly been involved in a fight.
Sunday, Dec. 13
7:16 a.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a vehicle
near mile marker 101.
3:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a 10-year-old child
driving a tractor down County Road 60 toward Gunflint
Trail. The caller said there was no parent either on the
tractor or following behind.
11:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Hit-and-run damage to a
vehicle at West Fifth Street-Fifth Avenue West. The caller
said there was a “huge” piece of the vehicle’s back end
missing.
