8:38 a.m., Grand Marais: Report that Fifth Avenue West
is very slippery. The highway department was notified.
9:48 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy was requested at the
school.
10:33 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of two dogs with no
collars heading to Grand Marais on the bike trail. One
was described as a collie-type, the other as brown, furry
and bear-like.
11:26 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
11:28 a.m., Schroeder: A disabled 30-foot camper was
parked at the Cross River pull-off overnight, until
repairs could be made.
1:39 p.m., Grand Portage: Possible child neglect
investigation.
3:52 p.m., Grand Marais: Suspicious activity reported.
Tuesday, Nov. 24
6:04 a.m., Schroeder: A guard rail along the highway
appears to have been crashed into and bent up, and
there was some type of debris along the fog line.
7:19 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a basketball-size
boulder along the highway under the rock cut.
8:21 a.m., Grand Marais: Traffic citation issued.
2:19 p.m., Grand Marais: Tools found outside a
building.
7:29 p.m., Grand Marais: Theft of items from a parked
vehicle reported.
Wednesday, Nov. 25
6:59 a.m., Grand Marais: A deer was struck by a vehicle
on County Road 7.
8:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she could see what
appears to be a dead deer in her neighbor’s yard.
11:48 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a suspicious guy
walking away from a house on Old Shore Road.
3:02 p.m., Grand Portage: Credit card fraud reported.
6:27 p.m., Schroeder: Traffic citation issued.
Thursday, Nov. 26
4:17 a.m., Grand Portage: False motion alarm at the
national monument.
9:16 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said the stoplight was
stuck on green and won’t change.
11:16 a.m., Lutsen: Reports of icy conditions on Ski Hill
Road, and several cars have slid off.
3:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a young bear in a
yard on West First Street.
7:26 p.m., Grand Marais: Cabin fire reported at Gofer
Cabins.
10:24 p.m., Grand Marais: A black-and-white mushing
dog ran off from a County Road 44 residence.
11:25 p.m., Grand Marais: Power outage on Pike Lake
Road.
Friday, Nov. 27
7:28 a.m., Lutsen: Power outage on Lund Road.
9:25 a.m., Grand Marais: An eight-foot ladder was lost
somewhere along the highway.
5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller heard loud blasts in
the woods behind Sawtooth Ridges, possibly a highpowered rifle.
5:23 p.m., Grand Marais: A yellow lab, Kirby, ran off
from the Rec Park when the fireworks started.
7:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Report that a golden Lab that
looks like it got hit was crawling across the highway
near Fall River Road.
Saturday, Nov. 28
6:49 a.m., Grand Marais: An employee inadvertently set
off the security alarm at Johnson’s Foods.
7:29 a.m., Grand Marais: Report of a break-in at
Homestead Cooperative.
11:35 a.m., Grand Marais: Caller said someone went
on his land on Pike Lake Road and cut down several
Christmas trees.
1:35 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported a lost olderstyle garage door opener somewhere in town.
5:17 p.m., Schroeder: A white dog was found roaming
around the Temperance Landing area.
5:31 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm at Bluefin Bay.
7:30 p.m., Lutsen: DWI arrest.
10:18 p.m., Schroeder: Report of a deer in the middle of
the road at mile marker 77.
10:57 p.m., Grand Marais: A small golden retriever ran
off from Fifth Avenue West.
Sunday, Nov. 29
12:08 a.m., Grand Marais: A deputy stopped and spoke
with a person on a skateboard.
8:24 a.m., Lutsen: A gray dog that resembles a wolf was
found roaming around the Ski Hill area. The collar has
a Thunder Bay phone number, but it goes to an office
voice mail.
9:51 a.m., Hovland: Power outage on Camp 20 Road.
1:33 p.m., Grand Marais: Lost wallet reported.
2:40 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a dead dog with a
bullet wound on the trail near the George Washington
Pines.
7:11 p.m., Lutsen: Report of a reckless driver in a white
jacked-up truck on Onion River Road-West Highway

gone. They only come up on the weekends, and they left
their garage door open.
